Club Fitting Recommendations

I am wanting to get fitted for new clubs just to know I am swinging the clubs I should be and hopefully take some strokes off of my game.
I'm looking for recommendations on who I should go to. Looking for overall quality and price. I've read a lot of the threads on this and saw John Joy and James Leitz as well as GolfTec and Edwin Watts but I would honestly rather have the "personal" touch of a private fitter. I'm about an 8 hdcp now if that matters in who you recommend. Currently in Baton Rouge so I wouldn't mind driving about 2 hours if I had to. Thanks in advance!

Bebu Golf Studios would be the best. Leitz is really good too.

Leitz is the best fitter in Louisiana, reason why Golf Digest has him ranked top 100!

Do you have an idea on price?

I believe it’s around $150 an hr. Irons take an hr and then driver/woods are generally an hr as well.

Never heard of Bebu? Can you hit balls outside on trackman? Or is it just an indoor studio?

It's quite sad that the best 3 fitters in the BR area are all an hour away.
Leitz - Covington
Buddha - Nola
Joy - Broussard

I’ve had good results with Club Champion in Houston. Not sure if there is one closer to where you are.

I've used Blake Thomas at U Club for lessons and fittings. I've never used anyone else so he is my baseline but he was awesome IMO.

I’m from BR, I did a fitting and bought clubs through Bebu last year. Well worth the investment of time and money for me. He gets my recommendation. I can’t compare him to other options in south Louisiana but Bebu was great to work with.

quote:Because no one else in the area can do what he does currently. Every head and legit shafts, trackman, and knowledge. No. He's not cheap. But he builds the clubs instead of simply ordering and sending them on. And once you work with him, he will always take care of you. I was there last year for a tuneup on my current clubs and to check my gaps, and we made zero changes. He wasn't going to charge me anything. Class guy.

most important part of a fitting, when they build on site they check everything from the factory.
If you just get something shipped the OEM could easily not have your specs right, happens all the time.
When they build on site you are getting that exact club.

Wait until Club Champion does another full bag promotion

does club champion actually build and test on site or do they ship off to the OEM?

I think club champion does, but the fitters aren't quite there yet. Bandit went not long ago and the guy he worked with was a bit of a dunce.

frick that, If I'm spending that kind of change I want an absolute nerd that knows everything about a fitting and will answer any question I have with confidence.
