Been in Allen for 32 years. Entire area has been overrun with people.

Dallas is going down the drain, soon to be another Chicago.

I'm there every weekend. It's literally the border of McKinney and Frisco and its nothing but neighborhoods.

Congrats we both agree on that.

I'd rather live in the north side of Chicago than the north side of Dallas.

These areas were quite literally master planned and built to be pretty identical to each other. I don't know why you're always deadset on arguing against them looking the same.

Cool, there's a little somewhat urban development along the billion dollar mile. There are high rises still going up left and right in and around the downtown/uptown area and all along 75.

Houston by far, everyone moving to Texas should choose Houston over Dallas.

That is because the notion to move into Dallas or Houston proper is not a sound choice now.

I cannot provide info for Houston, but Dallas is dying. There are rampant crime issues, free packs of roaming dogs, practical legalization of small theft by the new DA, quitting police force, worthless hipsters screaming at the sky, high taxes and breaking infrastructure.

The politics is beyond horrible now and the only money left is the old money. TH03 new money people are not flocking to Dallas and the old money is slowly transitioning out.

You do what you want to do, but living in Dallas at this point would not be wise.

Have you ever even been in Dallas proper? Roaming dogs.

I had to walk past 36 hipsters screaming at the rain clouds today. Something about trump pissing on them or something.

Yup in a shady side of East Dallas.

I will give you it is a larger problem on the South side of Dallas.

I guess a question is, why do you like living in Dallas? We have went on why we do not.

I moved to Dallas proper in November for a new job and to get back closer to my family (brother in austin rest of family the Woodlands)

I am thrilled i moved here. Houston would be "too close" to my family so I wasn't moving there and I work with all the big law type firms that really aren't prevalent in Austin.

I moved from DC so I like:

1. It's cheaper to live than any cities i've lived in since college (NYC, Miami, DC)
2. People are way nicer than any of the above
3. Different areas of the city have totally different vibes. Deep Ellum is different than Uptown and lower greenville and bishop arts
4. My dog has a backyard now in lower greenville in a 2 BR house as opposed to a 1 br apartment

To be fair, the first 2 and last point are probably true in Houston as well, but those are reasons I like Dallas.

I will probably either move to west Dallas or north after my lease ends in 18 months, depending on where i am with women/life/student loans paid off etc.

I work mostly in Dallas so I'm close.
There is much more in terms of entertainment. Sports, concerts, etc
Much better food and bars.
Easy access to love or DFW
I prefer deep ellum to shops at legacy and with gentrification going on, more and more areas are blowing up with places to go.
I'm in a safe area with easy access to DNT/75/635
Neighborhood architecture is for the most part original and beautiful in comparison to the horrendous mcmansion facades found common up there.

Etc
Etc

Frisco is becoming pretty damn urban and a crap load of 20s-30s live there now.

Dallas is a shell of its former self. All that money is slowly coming North.

If someone in their 20's is living in Frisco rather than Dallas proper, I feel bad for them.

As someone else said Park Cities+Preston Hollow are always going to be where the real money is.
