I said that for him to lose, it will take someone hitting the daily doubles and going “all in” like James does. That almost happened today.

Y’know, there’s already a thread here and on the TV board about this, right?

He got the daily double on the first clue in the first round, could only bet a grand and missed.

He doesn’t miss final jeopardy though so I knew if he had a lead he would win.

This is going to be the new normal. Jeopardy has to readjust their prize money account by a significant amount.

Everyone is now going to use this strategy.

Thanks dickhead. Some of us are avoiding the movie board right now because the front page has like 17 game of thrones spoiler threads on it.

So go cry somewhere else.

other guy may be one of the top 10 players of all time but we'll never know

really should wait a year and make up a premise to give him another shot.

He will hit $2 million. He’s pretty much already like 69% there.

The question at this point is whether he surpasses Jennings’ $2.3 million which he is less than $1 million away from

Arthur Chu tried it a few years ago. Can’t remember how he did his wagers but he did try the jumping all over looking for the Daily Doubles. He had some success for several episodes but I don’t think he was as well rounded on trivia as James is, seems like maybe pop culture slipped him up.

There’s also an already established Jeopardy/James thread right here on the OT.. so for the orig poster, try to avoid starting threads like this with the outcome in the title, especially if/when James loses.. some of us cant, or choose not to, watch Jeopardy til later int the day on dvr.

The categories seemed a lot softer today giving the other players a much better chance. Not taking anything away from the other players but It will be interesting to see if Jeopardy uses this approach again to help someone beat James.

Haven’t watched today’s ep yet, but i’m curious, what comprises a ‘soft’ category ?

Just wondering, cuz it seems like certain people are good at, maybe geography, or science.. while others might be better at literature, or world history... what’s a soft category?

People say this but it's really not the "strategy" so much. He's just killing the answers. Betting aggressively is helping him get there faster but he's the best player Jeopardy has ever seen.

At 18 games:

James Holzhauer - 636 correct answers, 23 incorrect.
Ken Jennings - 624 correct answers, 48 incorrect.

There is no reason that James won't blow past Ken Jennings aside from dumb luck.

Ned dies.

There. Now you don't have to worry about spoilers anymore.
