Anyone have any experience with this brand? What are your thoughts? Thanks!

I have a 24' Blue Wave Pure Bay. Great riding boat.

22 pure bay with a 175 SHO. Love the boat. It rides well and takes chop nicely. Lots of stock features. Make sure you have a 112lb thrust trolling motor on it. I would also spring for a 200hp motor.

Ran both the 22’&24’ with 2fity sho, very efficient and sea worthy hull. Fit and finish is what you would expect for the price point.

In TX, Blue Wave owners have a reputation of being potlickers. Take that how you will.

Don't have any personal experience with them but there are at least 2 guides on Grand Isle that had / have them and I know that on at least 3 occasions the 24 Pure Bay has cracked up and had to be replaced by the factory. Don't know if it was a specific problem that has been corrected or what. One is still running his factory replacement, one sold it after it had to replaced the second time.

My buddy has one that all of the stringers have broken loose. Its on the way back to the factory for warranty repair. This is the first one that I know has had issues.

Just my 2 cents, but I don’t care for all of the exposed silicone/caulking they use, especially at the base of the center console.
I would definitely get that colored in black, and then hope it doesn’t separate or dry out anytime soon.

I've been on a few of the 24's on guided striper trips. They are plenty fast and ride very comfortably. Got into some fairly rough water in one on Beaver Lake one time and it was Cadillac smooth given the circumstances.

If I lived around any remotely big water I would want one.

So you advocate pulling up to where someone has located fish and trying to catch them?

Nope, call them and ask for a list of owners close to you that can be contacted for a ride. Errybody who owns the L&B's swear by them so it should be easy to find one who wants to tell you how much they like their boat.

Thanks for the advice.. I did email the company. I am definitely going to get used... Can't justify new cost to use twice a month.

I have and I loved it. Wanted one for the longest time. Was surprisingly dry for a flats boat in a chop and was fast before all these other bay boats caught up to what fast was. But I decided a pure bay boat better for our area.

As to the OP. I rode in 1 2200 bay and it beat me like a step child. But I do think it had more to do w the captain than the boat. Agree w Kemo about the fit and finish.

I have an older model Blue Wave (220 V-Bay). It has treated me great, it is a smooth and dry riding boat. For the price I paid for it, it's worth every penny.

I also have a buddy who has a 2200 Purebay. The boat is great, just like mine, it is very smooth and dry riding. Bluewaves seem to have a pretty good reputation.

Post on thehulltruth, they may have some more insight over there.

They do ride great. The only downside i see with them was the size of the front deck. its a very pointy bow which limits the with carried forward on the deck. I fish mostly on a blackjack, frontier, or baybolt which all have massive front decks.
