Heading to Jaco August 1-5 for a bachelor party. Looking to do at least one day of fishing while we're down there. Wouldn't mind spearfishing if that is an option as well. Has anyone been down there to fish that time of year or could recommend any guides. We're open to any kind of fishing. TIA

Book everything thru Jaco VIP, including your house. They will provide transportation and everything else you may need.

I went this February. It was a blast. We fished with Maverick and they were top notch. In 2 days we caught something like 24 sailfish, 3 yellowfin, 1 blue marlin and 1 black marlin. As far as rooms, we rented a penthouse that slept 10 and it came out to be $120 for all 3 nights.

elusive porpi is dead on. Use maverick for fishing charters.

stay in jaco if you like to party, stay at the resort (los suenos) if you want to be a little ways away from the party scene.

casino (cocal) has more than gambling available

Went Last Dec with 3 buddies for 7 day trip. Rented a party house in Los seuonos and we booked 3 fishing trips with maverick as well. We fished with Rudy on the Super Fly. Great captain and crew, caught on all 3 trips. Played golf one day, did side by sides one day, and chilled in jaco one day. Get Harold from HRG group to be your concierge. We had a blast and are going back in Aug before football season starts.

I have let you guys down. I have no pictures of what you really want, however fishing with Maverick was awesome.

We stayed at Los Sueños resort.
Fished on the Super fly day 1. We landed 5 sailfish with a triple hookup. A bunch of chicken dolphin that would have been in the fish box in LA. Two nice yellowfin tuna and two bull dolphins. This was the first time I've seen a bait ball of tuna. Last but not least a big blue hit a 20 wide. The show was amazing, fought it for at least and hour with no line gained. We didn't land it.

Day 2 was on the Geaux Fly. We landed 5 sailfish. It was a slow day compared to the first. We trolled all day compared to the first day catching live bait.

All in all the trip was an amazing experience with a great group of people.

Rudy on the Super Fly is the tits. Was Oscar first mate?

I can't wait to go back!

Glad you guys had a great time, and as for the other, what happens in Jaco, stays in Jaco. Lol

At Los Suenos Marriott now and fished with Hoos Your Daddy out of the Marina here two days ago and had a good trip. Landed 6 sails and raised several more. Lost a blue after a short fight as well. I would recommend them. Capt Dana runs 2 boats and the smaller boat is a little cheaper than Mavericks if you are looking for another option

For our 3 trips with Maverick came out to 2200 per man (4 of us). I think with house and everything involved for the whole trip, we spent around 25k...but most of that was the house in Los Seunos... It was absolutely a gorgeous property.

Next trip we are staying in Jaco on a property from HRG. It's a 4 bedroom hi rise condo right next to Cocal Casino

Yes to Rudy and Super Fly. Those guys worked for the fish and knew what they were doing. It was awesome.

A group from Louisiana bought into Maverick and have been pumping the hell out of it.
