The nukes are still not dismantled, we are still spying on each other, and still interfering with each other’s government.
I’m not talking about the nuclear weapon attack drills of the 50’s and 60’s type of Cold War, but things like sleeper cells, top secret weapon design theft, etc.

No the united states and the super elites that run this country have become invincible now. This country has a Technological advantage over Russia and China that will not be surpassed anytime soon. Our country has Star Wars type technology that we couldn’t even begin to fathom. During the old “Cold War” Russia was a legitimate threat to us. That threat died when the USSR died.

Not really. I think, for the most part, the US and the Russians would prefer to be allies than enemies. However, the Russians have an agenda that does not mesh with our’s. No reason to start a war over it though.

The only way Putin holds power is to have his own quasi cold war with the US. Putin is trying every maneuver possible to remain relevant on the world stage.

Well, Russia is seemingly attempting to “undermine” democracy in various odd ways, using media and hackers and internet troll armies and goes around fricking with Norway’s GPS and Finland’s radar and stuff. And an odd sort of mini-proxy war with the Syrian stuff. I’m sure the US is doing similar things. So yes, the Cold War is still going on.

It ended for a while. But it is back with Putin. Started in 2008 when he invaded Georgia. Obama did not help the situation any. Then he worked to influence our election and undermine our own government institutions. He helped to get a game-show host elected president while the uneducated who voted for said he gameshow host asked "why can't we be friends with Russia." Fast forward to today 200 years of American foreign policy has been broken with Russian military landing in Venezuela.

The Cold War was defined by proxy wars and spying. Venezuela is currently a good example of the continuation of the Cold War.

Russia has sent a lot of personnel to Caracas in an effort to bolster the current Socialist government. China and Cuba are also active in Venezuela.

Meanwhile, Bogota Colombia is now ground zero for international spying. Colombia is very pro-U.S. Venezuela dissidents have fled to Colombia. Over a million refugees have also flooded into Colombia. They have one of the most sophisticated spy agencies in the world from their days of battling cartels and Marxists revolutionaries.

Russia, China, Cuba, and even Turkey have descended on Bogota to spy on the U.S. and Colombia and to try to sow dissent amongst the exiled Venezuelans.
