you realize how childish it is to rail on Forde for reporting news he received from multiple people

is he not supposed to report this? That is his job.

So now you're a Forde fan? Even before the Wade story, this guy has been an unreliable, unprofessional excuse for a journalist.

If this was any other coach that Forde was "investigating", I still wouldn't put much stock in it. And if he was a great writer, he'd have a better job than irrelevant Yahoo Sports.

wait, you’re saying the FBI is investigating Wade because our admin suspended him?

Wow.

"After LSU coach Will Wade's indefinite suspension from the school on March 8, FBI agents were in Baton Rouge investigating his recruiting tactics, multiple sources told Yahoo Sports."

Dawkins and his people in connection with Addidas were found guilty of conspiracy to commit wire fraud and wire fraud. As you know that’s federal and that’s why the FBI is involved. I don’t have any clue about the last 50 years I’m just telling you why it’s a federal case.

I’m asking about federal charges for Wade. I see no federal laws broken. As a potential witness against Dawkins? Yes.

Shouldn’t the FBI be more concerned about other things than worry about what a college basketball coach in Louisiana does?

It is a potential white collar crime involving interstate wire fraud, and federal funds, all of which are the main missions of the FBI.

They are not investigating Wade /Wade’s tactics. It’s all about the ancillary money folks and middle men. He is a pawn.

Lsu fans if this was any other school would be all over that school calling them dirty

LSU fans because the school in question is LSU: “Arrrrghh Witch Hunt! Hit Piece!”

The hypocrisy is too obvious.

This is true. But then again, neither does the NCAA (from what I understand based on the reporting to-date). And from what I understand, if the current Dawkins case doesn’t go to trial the evidence is sealed correct? If so there’s a possibility that nobody finds out what else the FBI has. So it’s still circumstantial at this point.

Even if the NCAA DOES get the rest of the tapes, who knows how many other programs get wrapped up in the same scandal? It’s got to be better for LSU if damning evidence comes out when 20 other schools get busted than if it comes out now.

Which all goes back to my main point - I think the negative consequences of the LSU administration’s reaction are pretty clear. What did LSU gain by commenting publically and suspending Wade?

The stupidity here is amazing. The investigation and wiretaps preceded any yahoo coverage of this.

Yes, you don't hear about a FBI investigation until it is almost complete, they don't want evidence to disappear. it is likely they gathered all the information they needed over the last two years and it has just now leaking out.

Forde had this info weeks ago. He keeps leaking it little by little to try and keep the story alive and clicks coming. He’s done this two weekends in a row to get people reporting on the NCAAT to talk about it.

He’s a low life and if he had his info a month ago could have released it then.

I'm calling the son of a bitch in the middle of the night tonight from multiple different numbers.

His bitch arse won't be sleeping tonight or any other night when he chooses to publish BS.

And yes, the spin he's putting on the actual info is total BS. frick him.

Not sure what I'm going to say yet but by the time 3AM rolls around I'll have something worthwhile.

Because if he was paying players he committed fraud against the university by allowing the university to give scholarships to players he knew were ineligible. It has been explained a hundred times in the other 500 Wade threads.

Big Time college sports is dirty af. But.... who cares? Does anyone get hurt? NO So.... a poor kid with great athletic ability (and his family) gets some financial benefits from a few filthy rich boosters to go play basketball at a really nice college, with great facilities. Poor kid gets free education, fabulous healthy meals, the finest training in his chosen craft, and aduration of fans. School fields good, exciting team that fans want to watch. Makes lots of money off ticket sales and tv contracts. Fans get to watch exciting, winning sports. What exactly is the problem

A lot of people care, and it hurts other areas of the university. The players are being given athletic scholarships under the premise that it will be the athlete's sole compensation for their contribution to the school. If the players are being paid under the table they are getting scholarship money under false pretenses, money that could be used in a thousand other places, better academic scholarships to keep the best and brightest students from goin gto Al, GA and TX. Either pay the players, and end the façade , or shut it all down and start over as true amateurs.
