The fact he is announcing 2 years out that he is running for a state senate seat
Wait. This district isn’t up for re-election until 2021? I figured this was the October 2019 cycle

"Elections for the Louisiana State Senate are taking place in 2019. The primary is on October 12, 2019, and the general election is on November 16. The filing deadline for candidates is August 8, 2019."

My bad it is this year. I thought when I saw Barrow was elected in 2016 that would mean re-election was next year. She was elected in 2015 and sworn in in 2016.
She won by 20% of the vote 4 years ago with 53% of the vote....she had 14,000 votes. Voter turn out in district 15 in 2015 was 26,560 total votes
