I don’t think you understand what a lie is

There are several issues with this practice:
1. The margin of error for both radar devices and speedometers is around 5mph. This means you can be going a little faster than the speed limit while your car is telling you you're good. That's why human police rarely enforce speed limits unless the speeder is going more than 5mph over the limit.
2. These cameras are often enforcing school zone speed limits when the school zones aren't actually in effect, such as on weekends and during holidays.
New Orleans city government needs to have their feet held to the fire for these practices.

Or legally.. if you ever, at all, plan to park on a street in Orleans Parish, then you should pay the ticket.. anywhere else in the country, you can ignore photo tickets but in NOLA, though they’ll never increase your insurance or affect your credit or result in a warrant for your arrest- you WILL get booted and then have to pay whatever you owed for ticket(s) plus various and sundry fees and charges.
This is why you wait until you get the final notice, then take a trip to the closest auto notary. "Someone stole my license plate." Pay the $25 for a new plate. Problem solved.

It only works like that when you have unpaid parking tickets and then get caught parking illegally again
You'll be in for rude awakening once you run across a license reader vehicle

Man, nothing like a leisurely trip down 190 in the morning, afternoon, or evening. Just a little slice of heaven.

Don’t park your car illegally downtown and you won’t get booted
They have cars and vans with cameras that read your license plate and notify them if you have any unpaid tickets, etc.
They used to pass my house in Mid-City at least once a week, so your theory that you’re safe parked legally downtown, or even on the street in front of your house for that matter, is flawed.

It used to not be that way.
Been that way for a long time. I had two camera tickets from the same camera two days apart. Thought I had one and paid it. Did not pay the other. 6 months later, parked legally at a meter on st charles avenue, the van drove by scanning plates, I came out to a boot. That was 5 years ago.

So, some lawyers in NOLA are saying that now the boots are only for parking tickets and not license plate tickets.
I hope this is right, but I just got a notice that I am boot eligible from a speed camera ticket

Well to be safe just get a new plate.
it cost me 65 i think with registration

I don't think it's right.
Protip.... once you get a boot letter go and get a new plate.

even the cameras can't do math

Compare the school zone times and the delta between the usual speed limit and the zone limit, depending on the thoroughfare, with those in other cities and I bet you'll find the that the NOLA traffic-planning is set-up for the driver to fail.
As for the technology, I have to believe that the specifications for the radar/photo sensors would require scheduled maintenance and calibration. I would question if there are any such records.

No other city does this?
Nope.
NOLA is the only city in the country where you can’t just simply throw a photo ticket in the trash.
Sucks, and though I didn’t vote in the New Orleans mayoral race, i had a glimmer of hope that Latoya would maybe follow through on her promise to get rid of the traffic cams.. Lol @ me.

Figures. I just don’t understand how the city government can legally enforce camera tickets this way.

With the new ordinance they passed stating that they can't boot your car until you have 3 outstanding tickets, you basically can throw them away until you get that 3rd one.
