According to the story she didn’t like that he was stealing her thunder by wearing his uniform.

What is the judgment of the OT regarding this matter?

“The son of one of my husband's family friends showed up to my wedding in his marines formal wear, complete with all his medals. Now, I have nothing against anyone in the military but this was a black tie optional wedding and frankly it felt very out of place and it seemed like he was just trying to show off. My wedding had over 300 guests and nobody else felt the need to wear something to make them stand out,” the bride claimed in her post

It does seem weird to show up in a military uniform to a regular wedding. Nothing against military but that’s a bit much unless it’s military folks getting married who want that.
ETA: Me nor wife would have cared at our wedding
Eta2: After reading some of the comments I can understand his position also. I thought all along bride was a bitch anyways, but he was over the top. Now I’m kinda leaning more to his side and maybe it really isn’t too much over the top at all.

Don’t military personnel have a formalwear uniform? If this was that then it’s fine. If it was fatigues, tbh that is still fine to me.

The bride is a count

She sounds like a narcissistic count to me. It's your wedding day and you choose to get worked up over this?

Sorry if my service to the country trump's your wedding day

I agree with these guys
quote:
Him: Wearing formal military wear at formal civilian events is allowed per regulations (Army is AR 670-1, no clue for marines), but you have to be a special kind of a--h--- to wear it to a non-military wedding without specific permission of the couple.
quote:
I want to add, sounds like a young Marine who's(sic) friends recommended he wear it because it is chick magnet. Marine Class As are probably the best looking out of all the branches. If he is young and right out of boot, money isn't flowing yet for him to rent a tux. But he definitely should have checked with the couple first,” another wrote. “As the bride, you did overreact.”

When did davidthegnome start writing for Fox News?

Kinda weird of him to wear it but wayyyy worse for her to ask him to leave.

I’ve never seen any service member wearing military garb to a wedding and I know plenty of guys who served.
Sounds like the guy wanted attention

Yeah, they have an eveningwear uniform, but I doubt he had that. Mostly likely wore his dress blues.

its character that matters, not uniform. that's what martin Luther King jr taught me.

He should not have been in Betas at her POS wedding.

Definitely a bitch for causing a stink about it. But also strange thing to wear to a wedding. My FIL wore his for his daughter's wedding, but that's the only time I've really seen it in all the weddings I've been to.

Slightly snowflakey here.
It wasn't a military wedding. It's a weird move.

Need pics of said bride to fully formulate opinions. But early returns say FTB.

F her but sort of f him, I guess?

The bride is a narcissistic attention whore and the groom should run for his life.
