Ex-USC kicker Matt Boermeester filing lawsuit against USC over expulsion

For those who don’t know the story, he was the kicker for USC and kicked the winning field goal in the Rose Bowl against Penn State.
Someone said he and his girlfriend tennis player Zoe Katz got in a fight and he assaulted her. Both of them vehemently denied there was any physical altercation.
In typical kangaroo court Title IX style, he was expelled from USC.
This is one of the scarier cases of what qualifies as justice these days. This could literally happen to any of us and the truth doesn’t matter.
I hope he takes them to the cleaners.

Ah College Kangeroo courts don't care about important shite like that.
It's not even he said - she said anymore; it's someone else said.
Due Process in student proceedings is akin to the Animal House Fraternity expulsion hearing...
"I was told I would have a chance to speak?"
"That's enough, the court will now render a decision."

He and the girlfriend were just play-wrestling. Some jealous bitch turned them in.

A number of years ago, this happened, in a real courtroom, with real police and real district attorneys, in Texas. I know because I sat on the jury.
Someone said a guy beat up his wife. Both guy and wife denied it. Both guy and wife said she was drunk and fell down and got some bumps and bruises. Someone from 75 yards away saw it and called police. Police pressed charges against the man, using only the "eyewitness" from 75 yards away.
The judge didn't throw out the charge at trial, but basically constantly smacked down the prosecution. Guy was acquitted.

Me too, and I love USC. It's on priciple. They err too much on the side of caution and suspicion should not equal guilt.
