Better Player; Quinn or Ansah

Disregarding injury or contract, who's a better football player overall? Run defense included.

I think right now Ansah is the better player. Hopefully that injury didn't impact his game too much. But Quinn would be great for the depth. Either would be good by me.

Quinn and it aint even close

A healthy Ansah by a good bit imo.

I don't think you can disregard injury.

Quinn was better earlier in his career. Recently, not so much. Ansah was coming off a 12 sack season and got hurt. He was also pretty active in the run game. .

well that's not accurate
might be close enough that I'll take whomever takes the friendlier deal...maybe I'd slightly prefer ansah

Under those terms I would say Quinn.

Ansah if both are healthy but Quinn is better against the run than people give him credit for. Ansah is just a freak when healthy.
Posted on 3/20/19 at 8:33 pm to JB2010
Quinn is better because he actually plays. When healthy, Ansah is a beast but he's basically the Armstead of DEs.

Ansah is the better player but is always hurt so...

Ansah has the higher upside.
I'll take Quinn depending on length of contract
At this point I think ansah might be cheaper

Quinn has been consistent as a pass rusher since he got to the league
I’m not even sure Ansah can pass a physical or else he’d be signed now by someone I reckon

75% of Ansah’s 12 sacks in 17’ came in 3 games lol

well that's my red flag with ansah, generally a dude with his pass rush abilities don't become FAs and if they do, aren't on the market for long much less for cheap
but saying it isn't close between the two is hyperbole

Per PFF, Robert Quinn has never finished a season with a pass-rush grade below 62.0. That’s pretty good
If you extrapolate his career numbers over a per 16 game average, he’s a 10 sack a year kinda guy
One thing that really sticks out for Quinn is the forced fumbles. We need more of that. 23 forced fumbles in 111 games. By comparison, Cam Jordan has 10 FF in 128 games

I'm sold on Quinn. Hopefully the Saints & Dolphins can get the contract money & compensation straight.
Cook & Quinn would be the last 2 guys that we have to give big money. The rest of free agency would be finding depth.

I still have a hard time getting excited with the rigged league they play in. If we get quinn man this would be a great offseason and great is an understatement..
Must hit on that 2nd round pick. OL or a WR.
I like the Ohio State guy Paris, I wasn’t a supporter of drafting all these osu guys but why the hell not seem like they all pan out for us.
This would be the most complete team we’ve ever had..I didn’t even think that was possible from last years team especially with our cap situation.
Mickey and Ireland are doing a hell of a job..

It really is pretty impressive. Assuming we acquire both Cook & Quinn...there won't be many roster spots available & they're all backup roles.
Based on this...OL & defensive back should be main the focus' going forward. Especially OL. Need to fit a returner in here as well.
QB(3)
-Brees
-Bridgewater
-Taysom Hill
RB(3 or 4)
-Kamara
-Murray
-Washington
-???...I hope this ends up being our returner. Martez Carter is an option as well.
FB(1)
-Line
WR(5 or 6)
-Thomas
-Ginn
-Meredith
-Tre'Quan
-Kirkwood
-???...Dez for cheap would be ok imo. We could also use this spot to roster our returner.
TE(3)
-Cook
-Josh Hill
-Arnold or Garrett Griffin
OL(8, 9, or 10)
-Armstead
-Peat
-Easton
-Warford
-Ramczyk
-Tom
-???...Clapp will probably get a roster spot unless he isn't developing well.
-???
-???
-???
ST(3)
-Lutz
-Morstead
-Zach Wood
DT(3 or 4, to start the year)
-Malcolm Brown
-Stallworth
-Mario Edwards
-???...If we keep 4 DT's, the #4 will probably be released after Onyemata returns.
**Rankins probably starts the season on the PUP.
**Onyemata might not have to be on the initial 53 if he's suspended.
DE(4 or 5)
-Jordan
-Davenport
-Quinn
-Hendrickson
-???...I think we just keep 4 if these are the 4.
LB(5 or 6)
-Davis
-Anzalone
-Klein
-Robertson
-Biegel(ST)
-???
CB(6, b/c we need Hardee for ST)
-Lattimore
-Apple
-PRob
-???...need a backup slot guy.
-???...Maybe Crawley if he earns it.
-Hardee(ST)
S(4 or 5)
-M. Williams
-Bell
-???...#3 Safety.
-Banjo(ST)
-???...Maybe JT Gray for ST.

Well yeah you def take the guy who has been doing it his entire career over the 1 or 2 year wonder.
That's why I said ansah would come cheaper.
I'd rather Quinn just hope it's only a 5th and they are only adding a year to his contract
