Landon Marceaux was available to pitch Sunday (was sore for a few days before), but #LSU didn't want to pitch him just to pitch him. It had enough available arms not to use him.

Chris Reid has a slightly sore throwing arm, so he may not play tomorrow so that he's ready for the weekend at Georgia #LSU
quote:
Jaden Hill has played catch now twice without incident. "Hopefully he'll keep progressing and it won't be long before you see him on the mound," Mainieri said. #LSU
quote:
Nick Storz is throwing a light bullpen from less than 60 feet at practice with trainer Cory Couture watching. Paul Mainieri has said he could potentially return in late April #LSU

Can we get these dudes some ice and ibuprofen after they come out of the game? Our position players are getting this shite now?

Is this just code for "load management" like the NBA does?

Why not get Storz a chance to swing the bat

Put Chris Reid at 2nd or 1st or DH but he needs to be in the line up. He’s getting on 1/2 the time

"Sore Arm" it's a virus!
Posted on 3/19/19 at 3:28 pm to The Pirate King
This shite is like a virus. Need to quarantine the pitchers and have them separated from the field players so they don’t catch it lmao

In the second Kentucky game Saturday Chris Reid made a diving stop of a hot grounder to his right early in the game. He got up and threw hard to get the runner out but when he came back out for the next inning Mainieri stopped him in front of the dugout and looked at Chris' forearm on his throwing arm.
It lasted a couple of minutes and Chris pulled up his sleeve to show Mainieri that he was wearing one of those stretch, elastic "butterfly" bandages on the inside of his forearm running length ways from just below his elbow down almost to his wrist.
The rest of that game Chris was frequently shaking his right arm as if to loosen it up.
I figured something was up. I don't know if he landed on his throwing arm when he dived for the grounder or if something pulled when he made the hard throw to first base to get the runner.

I remember that. FWIW, neither of these arm issues sound serious to me.

Yep, DH him to keep him in his groove at the plate.

No pattern here. Everything is ok guys.

This was explained on Matt's show last week I think. I want to say it was Cartwright.
Highschool guys aren't taking care of themselves which is why they have so many freshman sore arms
As for Reid, a senior... He hasn't practiced since the summer likely. Wasn't on the team in the fall and was back on 2 weeks before the season. Makes sense he might be sore, plus there was that diving play someone mentioned

Has Mainieri announced who his Starting Pitcher is tomorrow night?
Posted on 3/19/19 at 3:51 pm to The Pirate King
Reid had a band on his forearm that's typically worn for tennis elbow or tendinitis. The band does absolutely help, but rest and ice are really the only solution and even such it kind of lingers. Luckily, he's not a pitcher and should be able to tough through it with some rest and ice.
