Spare me the "recruiting reasons" Bs. This administration has proven time and time again they don't know what they hell they are doing, and they are going to give Ed Orgeron more money.

Why? Because he exceeded extremely low expectations that were brought on because he was a terrible hire in the first place? Because he's "trending up"?

Ed Orgeron should be judged on his 2019 result. The thought of him having a raise should not be brought up until after the 2019 season.

Stop bitching.

We have a top-tier team for half the coaching costs of top-tier programs.

* that's exaggerated a little, but you get my point.

It's not your money. Why do you give a frick? There is nothing more irrelevant than coaching salaries. I has no affect on you.

And before you chime in with some ticket prices bullshite, LSU is going to charge market rates for those, regardless of coaching salaries.

I don't remember them decreasing ticket prices after Orgeron was hired at a cheaper price than Miles.

Your opinion is your opinion, but it's still the wrong one. Top programs in college football will not allow their head coach to approach a lame duck season.

You may not agree with it, but recruiting is one of those reasons, amongst others. If you want to place blame, place it on the culture in NCAA football.

I for one agree with you. He hasn't done anything special to deserve a raise, or an extension at this point of his coaching career.

Unless the administration thinks finishing third in the west is some great accomplishment.

He exceeded expectation because a bunch of "top 10" teams turned out to be awful.

MSU, Miami, and Auburn were atrocious compared to expectations this year. Then got to play UCF without their stud QB and barely won. Spare me the "LSU was missing a ton of players too". UCF was literally missing their entire key to success on offense in any form.

We are talking about the guys who fire a NC coach who averaged ten wins a year and replaced him with a DL guy who has never even sniffed any title. After the new guy goes 10-3, 5-3 to finish third in the west and fifth in the SEC these guys think a raise and extension is in order.

Don't hold your breath expecting them to learn anything.

I think Alleva gets it. But the bastards of the BOS don’t give him any authority or Leeway.

We saw that when the Facebook moms prevented miles from getting fired.

I do however think Alleva got suckered into a bad, bad, BAD 2012 miles extension.

Saban prolly offered Arky a couple million To feign interest in miles forcing LSU to act. That was the nail in the coffin for our football program’s rise. The decline was real.

Right. The price is one of the lowest in the SEC in a top ten profitable NCAA CFB program.

That's called value.

I demand that LSU supply our basketball program with Will Wade. Is that how it works?

Ed is a yes man.

Remember when Ed and his OC weren’t getting along? Ed allowed JA to to sit in on watching game film with them. What respectable HC would allow the AD to sit in a film session? It also shows how worthless JA is as AD. No other AD would’ve done this

It’s a value hire; we just can’t think that it’s top notch in any regard....except for value

How often does a program wait until the head coaches contract is up to fire him? How often does a football program beg ticket holders for dono's so they can pay a buyout? My point is that coaches contracts are completely irrelevant to us.

Yes they do....that's why they extended his contract. Are you considering all the factors? I get your point but recruiting is one of many others that make it good timing.

Orgerondeserves a raise. Yes he is not going anywhere. The team far exceeded expectations this year.

I’ve never been an Ed Orgeron fan at all.

But right now, he is among the least of LSUs problems.
