no one is satisfied with that, but when you frame a thread attacking the people that have been going to games regardless of how good or bad the team is because they might not be as vociferous as others is lame.
Or maybe if those that showed up regardless of how bad the product was didn’t show up at all, it would force a change to actually attempting to be decent at the sport.

Bandwagon fans are a sign of a good program
Bandwagon fans that all of a sudden just start showing up and bitching about people who have actually been supporting the team for years is not just a sign of a good program. It is a sign of shitty spoiled fans who think the world revolves around them.
If the true fans ruin the bandwagoner's experience, so what?

Who you calling old timer bitch? Some of us actually contacted the BOS and advised we’d be cancelling our season tickets if Wade gone next year but Alleva was still here. What did you do besides post on a message board?
We cannot accept this type of mishandling by our leaders.

The problem here is the “true” fans of LSU basketball are embarrassing. It’s the same clientele that frequents Piccadilly before going to play the slots at the boat.

Apparently you are only a true fan if you are a fan of a team that sucks.
way to take what others have said out of context. True fans are those who support the team and program win or lose, good or bad. Fair weather fans are those that support the team only when they're good and winning. All programs have fair weather fans, but to bag on a big chunk of our loyal fanbase because many are older and don't cheer as loudly is pathetic. Those old people are the ones that donate money and help keep the program above water during the bad times. And fwiw, I'm in my mid 30s, but I think the OP's stance is awful.

The whole concept of Bandwagon fans is a canard.
Would you keep going to a restaurant if the food was crappy?
Would you buy clothes from a store if they lost their color and fell apart after one we wash?
Of course not. They do not GIVE AWAY LSU tickets. They are a product for sale and some folks make a lot of money off of that product so why does it make a person bad if they do not want to pay the money they earned with their labor to go see a lesser product.
If you stop PAYING YOUR MONEY to go see them it does not mean you do not love LSU.
This does mean that I think LSU is necessarily going South by the way.

I’m sick and tired of these kinds of remarks. I resent what you’re saying.
We’re in our mid-sixties. My husband has had season tickets for 35 years. We stand up and cheer, he shouts at the refs continually.
We attend every home game unless sick or out of town. Even when we’re ill sometimes. I had bad bronchitis at the Auburn game. My husband had diverticulitis, went to the ER. They wanted to keep him overnight, he refused saying he wanted to go to the LSU A&M game.
I make signs and posters. I have 4 T-shirt’s that I got #44 Wayde printed on them. We’re old timer super fans!
We use the advantage of being semi-retired to travel to away games, and tournaments. Regardless of who’s coaching and how the team is doing. We could be spending our money on cruises or other recreational travel. So do a lot of other “old timers”.
Here’s what you need to know about “old timers”. They have had season tickets for years and years - 30 or more. They WERE 20 somethings when they started going to games. And they carried on coming. They were standing, cheering, chanting back in their day.
Now they’re elderly and infirm, they can’t get up and down easily. Some attend the games in pain due arthritis etc. I know a lot of them.
Bob Petit, Ned Clarke, Dale Brown are old timers and still support their team. I was walking into the arena with Ned Clarke once, and he had to lean on me to be able to walk along. He still comes, for crying out loud.
Any of the “younger” fans, willing to do that?
Why you expect elderly people to get up and cheer is beyond me.
Should they stay at home now, because they’ve fulfilled their purpose as game going fans years ago? Even though they’ve faithfully followed this team for years and years?
I guess they’re taking up seats that younger, more raucous people should have. I’m sure they would come to every game, through good and bad.
Yes there some grumpy ones who tell people to sit down, but FYI I’ve had younger people tell ME to sit down!
So just shut up with the ageism.

No, but I'd give it a try or two.
But our bandwagon fans don't give it a try or two, they just show up when it's popular.

But you have to come see first and not showing up until February isn't giving the team support when they need it.

I didn't know they charged students. I thought they got in if they paid tuition.

IDK if that's what he's saying but that's the truth.
Back to the only time you see the students and younger crowd is when Kentucky and ESPN come into town.

This argument falls apart when you acknowledge only the “old timers” were attending THIS SEASON until 3/4 of the way through the season.

What the hell does the crazy shite going within LSU and LSU Men's Basketball have to do with "old timers"?!?!
You can kiss my 62 year old arse.

Somehow inferring that Alleva and FKA's dumarse moves are laid at the feet of those of us who have supported LSUMBB through thick and thin is CRAZY.
BY the way, I'm 68 now and have been yelling loudly during MBB games from my seats in sec 102 (used to be 108) since I bought them the year I graduated, 1973.

These idiots know or care nothing about loyalty, support and what being a “fan” really means. A bunch of self-entitled little turds that weren’t even in nutville when people like us bought season tickets. I had them for several years in the ‘80’s before, during and after my son attended LSU.
They are the same bunch that leaves at half time during football games and aren’t even I. The stadium to cheer.
