It has nothing to do with the success of your alma mater, and he's not supposed to care about that, anyway. He's a journalist/columnist. They're not supposed to be fan boys (although some of them are).
His bashing of Wade is absurd but not because it comes off as being anti-fan, anti-LSU, anti-Wade, whatever. He bashes Wade because Wade won't talk to the media, and that's a good way to get on the wrong side of a journalist. They whine about football practices being closed so how do you think it goes over when Wade won't talk about a much bigger story? It's petty and it's chicken shite, but journalists do tend to suspend their objectivity once people quit talking.
The reality is that it is in Wade's best legal interests not to talk to anyone, meaning LSU, the NCAA, the media or anyone else about this matter. It doesn't mean he will get to keep his job, but I wouldn't say anything if my lawyer had advised me to be quiet.
Wade is not hiding, he's being smart, unlike when he talked to Dawkins and unlike the LSU administration during this whole process.

He writes a little bit more of an opinion column for The Advocate now, but still this is stupid. No matter what side of the fence you're on when it comes to the suspension, I think we all agree that he can't talk about what's going publicly or privately.
