In the comics the X-Men have been consistently more intriguing than the Avengers.

In the movies not so much.

Logan and Days of Future Past are much better than any Avenger movie.

I agree. X-men is naturally better than Avengers in the comics and has been since the 70s. Now we just need people making them that really want to do it right

Just think what it’ll be like when they face off on the big screen. Rest assured, it’s coming

I was not the biggest fan of Avengers 1. It just doesn't have a lot of plot beyond good guys team up to take down bad guy. Way too many tone deaf quipy one liners. I am glad Joss Whedon was replaced by the Russos.

Almost because of its simplicity though, it's a highly re-watchable film that doesn't depend on previous films to understand or really spend much of any time setting up events that occur in future films.

That said, I probably enjoyed watching The Amazing Spiderman in theaters more than Avengers 1. I know that's really weird.

Part of this though is why I hate Marvel Studios bringing virtually all their properties under their umbrella. The X-Men franchise was very flawed, but it had a totally different tone than Marvel Studios. The same can be said with The Amazing Spiderman films.

In this age of all the superheroes existing in one universe, I also kind of appreciate the simplicity of having one hero or team of heroes being the centerpoint of the world.

I watched the animated X-Men series in the 90s, so I always preferred X-Men over most comic book characters. But the Avengers and the MCU movies as a whole are amazing. The X-Men movies are great, but compared to the MCU, MCU wins that battle.

Some people have issues with X-men bc everything about the X-men carries a very "serious" tone. This includes the characters and the films themselves. Even back in the comic book glory days I remember X-men being criticized for being too intense.

Avengers/MCU has a joyous and fun appeal to it - it's like caricatures of comic book heroes themselves.

X-Men is a much better property in the comics. I'm hopeful the MCU will use them well. Maybe they can give Rogue her real backstory with Captain Marvel now in the mix.

Call me a fairweather fan if you will, but I have never gotten into comic books really. But based on the tv show that came on in the 90s and early 2000s, I have always been a huge X-men fan. Night crawler was always one of my favorite characters growing up.

I absolutely loved the original Xmen movies, X3 was the worst of the 3, but I still enjoyed it. Then when FC came out, I absolutely loved it. DOFP was a slight letdown, and Apocalypse was just full on bad.

In terms of the characters, the stories, the team, etc. I think I am more of a fan of Xmen. In terms of body of work with the quality of movies and whatnot, there is absolutely nothing that can beat the Avengers and the MCU.
