They have 5 losses. They lost to the following teams:
#1 Gonzaga
Syracuse
#16 Virginia Tech
#3 UNC twice
While I think Duke gets the benefit of the doubt because they are Duke, there really isn't anyone you can argue should be ranked higher than them.
Tennessee has one less loss, but they lost against Kansas, UK (but did beat them the 2nd time), LSU and Auburn.
If Tennessee would have beat Auburn, Tenn would be ranked ahead of them, but...
#1 Gonzaga
