do college basketball rankings not work the same as other sports, where you are ranked based on how you are currently playing? i get that with Zion they are the best team in the country, and also that rankings don't honestly matter, but it seems really odd to me that they have lost 3 out of their last 6 games and only dropped 4 spots in the polls. is this the pollsters just not wanting to drop them for losses without their best player or what? it seems odd to me when other teams like Michigan drop 3 spots for 1 loss to a top 10 MSU team

They run a clean program and don't pay players or their families.

Duke’s losses are also significantly better than MSU’s losses.

Key word "expected" not "will be"

He's done by the way. No way he risks his financial future and puts on a Nike shoe while playing for Duke. He would have zero leverage.

Sure, if you think so. Duke knows they're still a #1 seed if Zion has any "possibility" of returning.

Plus, they're bringing back a player with a knee injury and expect him to play 3 games in 3 days? Lol, that's insanely dumb

There is only one team in the Power 5 conferences that has fewer losses than Duke that is ranked behind Duke.

That team is Tennessee, a team that the same record over the last 7 games as Duke (4-3). Tennessee has also had all of their star players available. Michigan has also gone 4-3.

The easy answer to your question is that every team besides Gonzaga, UVA, and UNC has been dropping games. What do you want pollsters to do? Put teams with worse records, fewer impressive wins, and easier schedules ahead of Duke for some reason? This isn’t even really considering the Zion issue.

Zion was on the web posing in Adidas stuff a few days ago. Nike will have to give him the best rookie shoe contract ever to get him.

Same ol' shite.

Same as it ever was.

Duke will get a bogus #1 seed...perfect region, the East as usual...and play at home in North Carolina as usual.

It's been a crock of shite the seeding and region placement for Duke for 30 years.

Coach K must have plants in the tournament committee.

As stated before by the Duke fan, who would you have moved ahead of them.

I would buy you putting TT ahead of them, won 9 in a row and have looked good doing it. They wouldn't realistically move LSU up there based on all the media stuff going on and their coach so up in the air.

They aren't getting that region over UNC or UVA right now. They probably won't get that region over UVA even if they beat them for a 3rd time. They will end up in the South (with UK/UT being a 1 seed and them being a 2) or maybe the East behind UVA.

A lot up in the air still for sure

Not if he plays again. He'll have to wear a Nike shoe which then will tell Nike he's comfortable enough with letting go the incident of his shoe blowout. He loses all the leverage of signing a shoe deal when he goes pro. It's about the money why he isn't going to play. I'm sure he wants to, but he's not stupid to lose millions.

So you're saying he won't play the games until they and then ASSUME they'll win?

Same reason Texas is ranked highly in college baseball with a 12-6 record.
