Can confirm, I was in DECA my senior year and left school at roughly noon each day to go to my job.
You were required to have your boss fill out and sign regular "work report cards" to show how well you were doing and that you indeed still had the job, those that didn't were removed from the program.
You got out of school early whether or not you worked that day; all of your core classes were scheduled to cram into that time frame and other pointless electives were dropped.
I'd say it definitely prepared me for joining the workforce and taught me a lot. It also made my senior year extra memorable and fun as me and my friends only had 4-hour school days.
