SIAP - didn't know if it got buried in another thread. Admins please remove if it's already been posted.
Vitale's Tweet
Jordy's reply:
BR sports media showing some spine for once!
ETA: Looks like Vitale is picking and choosing what he wants to reply to.
Vitale's reply:
Have yet to see him respond to any of the substantial replies/questions.
Vitale's Tweet
quote:
The simple fact of representing LSU with comments on the FBI tape r grounds to fire Will Wade / an embarrassment to LSU / even if he & claims come out that no cash was actually laid out ! Morally he has violated the code of a contract btw school / coach
Jordy's reply:
quote:
You can't be serious with the moral play Dick! Start telling the stories on your boy K, or Roy Williams, maybe Bill Self. Save the moral play, Dick - that's embarrassing

jordy is a Wade guy (it may rival his loyalty to coach o). he will go down with the ship. the rest of us need to let media and the administration know we support OUR COACH.

Dick Vitale is a racist. He's only singling out LSU for being an all black team. That dirty piece of shite.

I think you overestimate that. He was critical of O and the coaches on air many times last season

Funny how he posts all this shite and then I doubt he responds to any replies? I would like to hear him on one of the radio shows and put him on the spot about protecting his boys but throwing Wade and LSU under the bus.

Hard not to be, even for his most loyal supporters.

It's about time someone in the local media pointed out the hypocrisy.
We're all in here shouting it as loud as the written word can be, but no one is going to listen to us. People with a public voice should be pointing this out to the Vitale's of the world.

I don't mind people having an opinion. Even if it is completely opposite of mine. But I do hate this culture we have created of sanctimonious hypocritical virtue signaling.
Maybe not Dickie V, but you have countless journalist bemoaning the fact that these "poor college athletes are being exploited by having to play for free." Then when reports (not just limited to Wade) come out that these "poor kids" may have been compensated (albeit under the table) for their abilities, the virtue signaling media discusses how much of a "travesty" it is.
Dickie V knows damn good and well how college basketball operates. I mean, my God, AAU is LITERALLY an organization whose SOLE purpose is to create a grey market for young talent. Does anyone really believe that AAU is akin to your local Knights of Columbus basketball league with couple of dads getting together 2 times a week to coach youth basketball? If you do, I both admire and feel sorry for your naivety.
EVERYONE involved in college basketball knows the landscape...coaches, journalist, players, handlers, shoe companies, and THE NCAA. So save the sanctimonious bullshite for those who choose not to live in reality
The NCAA could have ended the way basketball recruiting is conducted a LONG time ago. Other than a few half-hearted attempts simply to just create a guise of concern, they haven't. Why? Because the NCAA event that is going to tip off in 2 weeks generates nearly a BILLION dollars in revenue for the NCAA...which accounts for over 3/4ths of the total yearly revenue generated. They are smart enough to know that killing the golden goose would be a horrible business decision.
If you want to have an opinion, fine. We're all entitled to one. But at least be intellectually honest
