Entry passes are a form of penetration into the zone defense.
Well in basketball language, and especially in this discussion, penetration and entry passes are two different things. A guard penetrates better and more often vs man than vs zone. That's why it happens less vs Florida.

What the frick does it matter if you use dribble penetration or entry passes?

You get more fouls with dribble penetration because dribble penetration necessitates more body contact--same as running vs passing in football.

Zone makes for defensive help and switching by design, so beating a guy off the dribble (phrase in bold because I'm 12) accomplishes nothing vs a zone. The best way to beat that Florida zone is to pass to the high post (Reid), creating four passing opportunities--the problem with LSU this year is that three of those options are on the perimeter, and the 3's aren't falling. At any rate, LSU's zone breaker discombobulated UF's zone just enough to win this time. Geaux Tigers.

Why aren’t you coaching? Damn! If we had you...oh wait. We won. Nevermind.

On my TV, Reid was in the corner a lot, as if he is Klay Thompson waiting to fire from deep.

He was out of position to rebound, no less some fancy high post passes.

All that matters is that we won and went undefeated on the road in the SEC. Was it ugly sometimes? Not to me. It was absolutely beautiful.

Kennedy is great. He knows basketball and has fun with it. His reference to the guy in the stands playing drums like AC/DC was hilarious.

When he was talking about Digital Underground he told Karl Ravich, you can be Money B and I’ll be Shock G. That was some Bill Walton level game calling right there. Good stuff
