Just above average for the Monday drop of 70% off the first weekend. 70+ next weekend easily.

although I've seen the endgame trailers. I'm surprised they didn't show it before CM.

I saw it last night and it was almost sold out. I really enjoyed it and thought Larson did a good job. What seemed like wooden acting in the trailers made complete sense in the context of the story. It's in the upper half of Marvel movies.

Readjusted to 10.9. Again, right in line with any other school year 150+ release.

CM is rapidly running out of steam. Plus word of mouth I'm hearing is bad to meh, with most of the complaints focused on Brie's lackluster performance. I'm hearing from many people that this is the worst standalone Marvel to date.

Captain Marvel has received an "A" CinemaScore rating.

Generally, a high CinemaScore rating -- the survey of what actual audiences thought of a film -- is a pretty good indicator that a movie will do well at the box office.

No, but I would say it feels like a Marvel movie made in about 2010-2012 before they really hit their stride.

It's not an amazing movie. It's not a terrible movie. It's just a run-of-the-mill Marvel origin story superhero film.

It's neither bad enough nor good enough to warrant the amount of controversy it has received.

It was definitely better than the first two Thor movies and Iron Man 3. Probably on par with Ant-Man and the Wasp.

A couple of people asked me if they should see it.
I asked them which Marvel movies they liked. "Ragnorak, Winter Soldier, Guardians, Civil War..."
I tell them it's not like those, but if they weren't pissed after seeing Dr. Strange or Ant-Man, they won't be pissed for seeing this.

I may be misunderstanding you, but they showed an Endgame trailer before CM.
