(Asking the unbiased fans) Were there any egregiously bad calls Saturday to our benefit?

I was at the game where they refused to show very many replays on the big screen for whatever reason, so I couldn't really tell you if there were any crazy bad calls that went our way. I know they called two flagrant fouls on us and thought the one on Naz was warranted (despite the fact that they should've also called a hook on Grant Williams) and the one on Days was just terrible (also Grant Williams...noticing a pattern here). Outside of that and the constant checking of monitors (which was annoying but didn't think they ever came out of those reviews with the wrong call at least), were there any calls that were way off that went our way to help us win? I keep seeing on Twitter that Tennessee got snubbed, but that doesn't sound at all like the game I watched. If I remember correctly, there were several missed calls that went their way, but I was sort of caught up in the heat of the game so that's my completely biased opinion.

They only call Tenn fans can complain about is the foul with less than a second left.
And it was a foul.
And it was a foul.

I thought they were fair. They were pretty bad but not any worse that several other games this year. The reviews were exhausting. But again, I thought they were generally fair. The foul on Williams at the end was about as obvious as it gets.

I mean....there are always fouls that should be called but I didn't see any outrageous calls that should have gone against us.
A few that went against us though.....May's 3 pointer at the end was a mugging.

They went to replay and determined that there should have been 1.4 seconds on the clock. They told the broadcast announcers, but didn't tell the clock operator to change it.

Don't let those bozos from the SEC rant get to you. We won fair and square . And without our best player. frick those crybabies from UK and Tennessee.

Skylar probably got away with a block that resulted in a turnover for Tennessee

I was hammered at a bar in Dallas and was screaming at the TV when Smart got hit at the end of the game.
I think a Sober Referee is better equipped to get it right
(Which he did)

Okay, so that's it? Nothing else? Because that was a really hard foul that HAS to be called regardless of the situation. I don't think people should come down to Louisiana of all places complaining about a foul that definitely should've been called.

I watched the replay and didn't see anything really controversial other than the usual close calls. I would imagine Tenn. fans are PO'd that they lost the game on foul shots, but that was a pretty easy foul to call. Smart had the ball and was trying to dribble up court before Williams plowed into him. Yes, Williams was just trying to go after the ball, but it's not like it was a situation where no one had control of the ball and two guys collided. Smart had the ball before getting bumped.
Objectively, I don't like games essentially ending in FT's. Just like I hate baseball games that end with a walk-off bases loaded walk. But that is a foul you have to call

Mays running into the UT player that resulted in a UT turnover near the end of the first half was close and I can consider that a bad no-call.
Also, I didn't really see a foul on the UT player when Days got the flagrant, though they eventually got two shots and the ball anyway, so that didn't really matter.

They could have called a foul against them on Skylar’s Hail Mary at the end of regulation honestly.

I can't think of any egregious calls, but i do kinda think we got a lot of fouls called in our favor. Maybe justified, but there is a substantial FT differential.

Smart had clear control of the ball and was taking his first stride upcourt when William's committed a clear foul. There are always fouls that are "iffy" during a game, and maybe some of those were to our advantage but others weren't. There were no egregious calls that I remember.

SHOULD have. Dude was cracked on the back of the head. He didn't flail like a bitch like Williams, though, so they didn't call it.

Critics seem to be complaining that, although it was a foul, the referee should have eaten the whistle and allowed the game go to a second overtime.
The concern should be (1) you don’t call it, (2) Tennessee grabs the loose ball and (3) TN wins on a last second prayer from a few feet away from the basket.
That would have been way worse therefore the referee needs to make the obvious call.
Further, if our player hadn’t have gotten knocked around like a pinball, he might have gotten off a long buzzer beater. The foul gave us no chance.

the hook caused the foul...i think they actually called it a technical and not a flagrant but I may be wrong

i thought this was more just than the one on Naz only b/c his elbow got him in the head

I didn’t really have a problem with any of the actual calls. The monitor usage was absurd.

LSU shoots more FT's per game than any other team in the SEC. That's not because officials love LSU. It's a part of the gameplan. LSU drives the basket more than most teams. As a result, more fouls generally occur
