Sweden paid for all of his travel, training, and equipment. I am pretty sure this is something the US doesn’t pay for until you make the Olympic team.

I know who his parents are cool guy. What I didn’t know is why since he was raised here and goes to college here why he would compete for Sweden. But the poster below answered my question perfectly without being a douche.

It's not like the US is hurting for medals. I think its fricked up, but it's his life and his choice, so no skin off my nose.

At this height, mondo is now about 9.5 inches under the world record. I believe it is going to be his within the next year or so. On one of his successful vaults at the field house that we saw a couple of weeks ago, the bar was set at about 19 feet, but he cleared the bar by at least a foot.

Im not questioning his patriotism but I would be lying if I didnt admit it makes me less of a fan of his.
