Dude, the mom straight up dated the dude AFTER he abducted her daughter.
Right. It was bad enough she cheated on her husband with this dude..
but to then get back with this guy sexually... AFTER he took your child and forced sex on her...
How... in the world..

Do we all agree the dad was gay?

Well this is out of left field.
Facts:
The guy has been married for 50+ years.
The guy has 5 children.
Not really sure where you're getting the "gay" vibe from. He clearly explained he was just dumb and his friend needed help.

So he jerked him off and Gail made inferences there was more.

He also was a member of a religious group that had very strong anti-gay policies, his wife was obviously sexually unfulfilled, and he didn't bat an eye to jerk his male neighbor/friend off. At the very least, he was bi-curious.
Lots of men, especially before homosexuality was more widely accepted, have lived a public life as straight, while pursuing homosexual relationships on the down low.

She was 12, being heavily drugged, and woke up in an environment that she didn’t recognize at all. Further, the pedo was someone who she trusted very much and he confirmed her story with the aliens. As a young child, it isn’t surprising at all that she believed that.
She beleived it all the way up until her 16th birthday when the "mission" was set to expire. 12 ok I can maaaybe see giving a pass. A 16 year old, drugged up or not, has no business falling for that.

I grew up in the late 70's and early 80's, and I look back at some decisions my parents made regarding me and my brother and just shake my head. Mom would leave us home alone all the time before we were really old enough to do such a thing, and she'd just tell one of the neighbors we were there alone and to keep an eye out. She had full trust in our neighbors like they did in B, so it really doesn't blow my mind some of their actions up to the first abduction. After that though, all bets are off. They were complete idiots.
She used to always leave us in the car with the windows down while she would grocery shop. Like we'd sit out in the car for 30-45 minutes, unsupervised. And we wouldn't be the only kids out there. Crazy to think about now.

Ironically these are the things that people like to brag about to this day about their up bringing

Yeah my brother and I were talking about it over Christmas and both agreed how fricked up it was. And not trying to disparage my mom because almost every parent did it at the time, at least in our neighborhood. Maybe our neighborhood was different, but all the adults were super close and had block parties and cookouts all the time.
She stopped doing it though when she got in a minor accident one afternoon, and it turned into a huge ordeal for her to get home. I just remember our neighbor coming over to cook us dinner saying mom got stuck in a meeting that ran over or something. Mom came busting through the door and had obviously been crying and just grabbed us, hugged us and kept apologizing. I was like 6 or 7, brother was 7 or 8.

Indoctrination is a hell of a thing.
Being drugged, having a messed up concept of love sent at you, being a kid with an adult you think you can trust. It's going to frick with her head. It's more surprising she managed to come to her senses on her own.
Also this is Mormon afterlife.
So yeah easy, easy prey.

Also this is Mormon afterlife.
quote:
In Mormonism, the concept of divinity centers around an idea of "exaltation" and "eternal progression": mortals themselves may become gods and goddesses in the afterlife, be rulers of their own heavenly kingdoms, have spirit children, and increase in power and glory forever. Mormons understand that there are many gods and goddesses in the cosmos, including a Heavenly Mother.[6] However, the three persons of Godhead (God the Father, Jesus, and the Holy Ghost) are to be the only objects of worship.
quote:
According to the Plan of Salvation, under the direction of God the Father, Jehovah (the premortal Jesus) created the earth as a place where humanity would be tested. After the resurrection, all men and women—except the spirits that followed Lucifer and the sons of perdition—would be assigned one of three degrees of glory. Within the highest degree, the celestial kingdom, there are three further divisions, and those in the highest of these celestial divisions would become gods and goddesses through a process called "exaltation" or "eternal progression". The doctrine of eternal progression was succinctly summarized by LDS Church leader Lorenzo Snow: "As man now is, God once was: As God now is, man may be."[2][3] According to Smith's King Follett discourse, God the Father himself once passed through mortality as Jesus did, but how, when, or where that took place is unclear. The prevailing view among Mormons is that God once lived on a planet with his own higher god.[4][5]
According to Mormon scripture, the Earth's creation was not ex nihilo, but organized from existing matter. The Earth is just one of many inhabited worlds, and there are many governing heavenly bodies, including the planet or star Kolob, which is said to be nearest the throne of God.
So yeah easy, easy prey.

I had a realtor that was sort of like this. He told us he knew he was gay since he was a kid. Then, he also told us he was married to a woman for 8 years. He just grew up in a rural household, and he did what was expected of him. So, I could totally see this dad actually being gay but living a normal family life. I could also see him being incredibly sheltered and not understanding the oddness of the relief request.

Yeah, because married guys with kids are never gay. Also, he's LDS, so being married with kids tells you absolutely nothing.
I believe that he was gay and that Mary Ann knew or strongly suspected he was gay and told this to B during their first affair. With this knowledge, B took him for a drive in his car and asked for a handjob knowing he would do it.
Because, in the absence of knowing he was gay, why would B have asked for a handjob? You don't ask that unless have a pretty strong idea of what's going to happen.
Also, he seemed gay.

Okay, this is just silly. Yes, he said that. And it's a pretty compelling explanation, said no one, ever. "His friend needed help"? Jesus tap dancing Christ, dude. I didn't realize we were having a naive contest.

the country literally created the 911 system because so many parents at the time were doing what you just described

I personally believe that these two were trading time with their daughter for sexual favors from B.
They can now tell the story however they want cuz B is dead and can't refute any of it.
