Is there not going to be a discussion about Abducted in Plain Sight?

This has to be the craziest story I have ever heard. And so many unanswered questions.

About the only thing those two idiot parents did that was the right/tough call was letting their daughter go to that camp away from home. They probably saved her life with that decision, as that was a very pivotal moment in things changing for her mentally and emotionally.

Everything else...fricking morons. They're lucky their daughter was a tough as nails woman who brought herself back from the brink of a very emotionally devastating situation.

For a 12 year old, it seemed very strange that she fell for the aliens story so easily.

Give those parents a break, times were much different back then.

My niece is 9 but naivety and just being a kind soul is something I don't see her losing.

Assume you're joking but some people probably feel that way

Which is nuts

He'd already kidnapped and deflowered their child, and when he did it again they didn't report it right away "because they didn't want the media to get ahold of it." Also, a mother who fricks a guy who was fricking her preteen daughter is inexcusable in any era (obviously). Especially one who gloats about it 20 years later.

There are grown adults who believe a magical being in the sky controls what happens in our world.

She was 12, being heavily drugged, and woke up in an environment that she didn’t recognize at all. Further, the pedo was someone who she trusted very much and he confirmed her story with the aliens. As a young child, it isn’t surprising at all that she believed that.

You can make that argument after the first kidnapping. Obviously missed some warning signs but maybe they are just the most clueless parents around. Give them a pass if you want

Anything after that first kidnapping is straight up criminal negligence and endangering a child. Truly amazed these interviews weren’t conducted with those parents in orange jumpsuits.

I’m guessing we just didn’t see the unstableness

For one she’s an actress now, and two she’s been telling this story for two decades now, she knows the notes to hit and how to hide the crazy

Obviously it’s not her fault but i would bet she’s got some real fricked up shite going on when not on camera

I was sad to see she and the mom collaborated on the mom's book

Just blows my mind

The overall lack of accountability by both parents was astounding.

It almost felt like they thought people would sympathize with them after hearing the story

It's been discussed a lot here.

I was not expecting this to be anything like it was..
