Between those two, Phasma is eminently more deserving of a more fleshed out back story.

I think everybody is excited for the backstory of a character that was in a grand total of 4 scenes, with 2 of those scenes involving her being defeated in humiliating fashion without putting up much of a fight.

They are trying to make her the female Boba Fett. The difference here is that Fett was intriguing. Phasma, not so much.

I will admit, though, if done correctly - and in the right hands - it could be a good series.

The Rose series is a strange decision. Like they want her character to be liked so much they're going to force feed a show about her to us.

I don't think anyone is really clamoring for the backstory on a chubby Asian chick. I'd watch the shite out of a chubby white dude show based on Jek Porkins though.

We need this story of empowerment on how Rose became a mechanic and the story of how an Imperial Trooper makes rank of Captain by losing every fight she gets into.

How Kathleen Kennedy still has a job is completely mind blowing. She’s singlehandedly destroying Star Wars for the millions of people that made it what it is today.

Why? She is a stormtrooper with a shiny suit that’s been defeated in two fights. That’s all I know about her. None of that makes the charachter interesting.

They haven’t developed the protagonist or antagonist in the new trilogy.

I can understand a Captain Phasma show. The rest is completely uninteresting to me.

Exactly. That's how bad Rose's character is

As for Rose, while the heroine proved to be a major character in Rian Johnson’s film,

Major? I didn't think she was major and she definitely was not a popular character. That would be the equivalent of making a series following shia labeoufs awful character in Indy 4.

Phasma would be a case study for decades on how to set the stage for an interesting villain... and then completely flush that down the crapper. Except they did an even worse job with Snoke.

Lets look at Star Wars villains by the series.

The original OG series had: Jabba the Hutt, Bobba Fett, the Emperor, Grand Moff Tarkin and the gent that lands at the top of almost every movie villain list Darth Vader. That is a Murderer's Row of villains for three movies.

The prequels weren't as blessed: Darth Maul, Count Dooku, The Emperor, and, at the end Anakin. That isn't a shabby group of bad guys. All were presented as legitimate threats.

The new series, so far: Snoke (built up and then killed with ease), Captain Phasma (beaten easily and humiliated in just about every scene she's in), Darth Beiber Kylo Ren, General Hux (spends all of his scenes being the butt of jokes or delivering over the top, frothing at the mouth, speeches).

Only Ren is presented as anything remotely resembling a serious threat and its hard to buy into a bad guy who is shown to be far less able then the main hero from the first movie on.

The best thing to do with the new movies is finish them and then let Star Wars lay fallow for a few years. Do the TV show if you want too since it shouldn't be tainted.

We're going to find out one day that she was an intern at Lucasfilm during the days of the original movie and George Lucas smacked her on the arse or Mark Hamill called her "sweet tits" and from that moment forward, she set in motion a decades long plan to Keyser Soze the franchise.

Somebody help be out with this. I understand that I'm not the primary audience, and that Disney works wonders exploiting the young teen girl demographics. But still, this has to be just a troll, right?

Phasma I could see, they could make her an anti-hero in a world of villains. Follow the Brienne of Tarth formula (duh), big girl able to beat the guys at their own game.
She obviously has done something to merit a different armor, so there's some possible storyline.

But Rose? She's the dumpy, unattractive and underacheiving sister- her sister was cute (or at least in shape) and a pilot. Rose was sent to do menial work far, far away from any bit of influence. She never does anything before TLJ.
What demographic are you angling at with her?

I've been given early access to some of the early footage of the Captain Phasma prequel. ***Spoilers*** It largely involves her wandering the Riverlands with the Kingslayer and proving her worth as a woman in combat, though she does need his help when forced to fight a giant Ewok-like character, which some might call a "bear".

you mean you arent interested in how she was raised as a low income person on the evil casino planet?

or why she thinks it is acceptable in a galaxy far far away to be a sexual predator and betray the trust of friendship to make her own sexual advances without consent

Just look at this news headline and this picture for a good reminder of why liberal white women are just the worst.

They are so insufferable that they destroy and suck the joy out of everything they touch.
