You have to reinforce every lesson at home after school.

This. On top of all that, if your child is in public school, its essentially impossible to fail unless you're legitimately stupid or lazy. Between test recovery, grade recovery, grading period recovery, edgenuity online programs, tutoring, IEP's, modified tests & accommodations, there really is no excuse to not pass a high school class. Even most of the dumb ones get passed along due to things like ACT 833, but if you're kid is failing, it's likely he's that kid in class that does utterly and absolutely nothing.

What a post. Part of me hopes it's trolling, but sadly I bet it's real.

Umm yes? It is your responsibility as a parent to teach your kids the importance of school and to help emphasize study habits and skills that they are taught at school. I'm sorry for your troubles?

I hate to break it to you, but they have at least 20 other students and can't spend extra time with every single one.

nah, the ones who have the kids held back for 2+ years then brag about their 12 year old making honor roll in 4th grade are the dumb ones.

I’m still waiting to hear exactly what they asked him to do over and above that is such an atrocity. Doubt either of us is going to get much of an answer.

Response: oh well here’s a list of shite that you need to do at home and you need to do on weekends and you need to go on the computer and do these things. You need to further continue going out of your way for your Kids to learn their education.

Oh thanks. THIS WHOLE frickING TIME I THOUGHT YOU WERE THE frickING TEACHER. Never is it a response that they try to pay extra attention to the kid, try to make sure this kid is grasping something or following along. NEVER.

Glad I live in a great place with a great ISD and don't have to worry about this type of thing.

You said the teacher gave you a “list of shite”. So what’s the list? What did they ask? Your whataboutism here doesn’t answer the question.

You won’t even tell us what the teacher asked you to do. Don’t you think, if it’s so egregious, that would help your case here? You also won’t tell anyone what you think the teacher should do that they’re not doing.

You’re coming off as completely full of shite.

Message Schools and teachers are a Joke by Knucklehead So, the primary educator in this world is the teacher who makes $32k in a good year?

This is completely fabricated. Teachers in the US do not average $32k a year. I don’t even think that’s the starting salary for a public school teacher in Louisiana.

With that being said, the school system model is definitely outdated. It only exists in its current form to keep people employed. It’s similar to the problem with going to a flat tax. All of these would make it easier, more efficient, cheaper, and more effective. They would also reduce both government spending and needless occupations.
