Don’t like letting the freshmen’s pitch count get that high. How many times do we have to watch a freshman’s arm fall off at the end of the season bc they aren’t used to the work load?
You honestly think freshman pitchers aren’t used to throwing 90 pitches in a game?
They’ve been throwing at least that many at least once a week since they were 12

Exactly. By the time college rolls around they should be throwing more not less. But lil johnnies dad down the road just has to get that fourth USSSA ring

If he is batting 2 hole, he will be bunting

walkers fine. PM just got so sick and tired of the bitching about the midweek games so he said yall wanna win on tues/wed instead of sunday?!? fine!!

Oh I am sure he will bunt at points. I just think a healthy broussard’s bat is useful for much more than just bunting

I need to see garza play before i annoint him like the rest of you. If he one of these guys that hits 12 bombs but hits like .240, i wouldnt be surprised. Granted i havent seen him play

If he is right (like 2 years ago) then he is not getting overtaken by jaden hill
I don't think it's so much about Walker as it is about what Hill is doing.
He was a top 50 prospect overall last year, that's slotted in round 2 and those kids don't many times make it to college. It also sounds like Hill is maturing much faster than anyone including myself anticipated.

Yea everything from Scuba’s scrimmage stats would seem to suggest that our best 3 are Hess, Marceaux, and Hill. Still think Walker has a shot at getting that spot back down he line though

Another thing that I don’t think should be overlooked ell is Walker’s lack of work in fall practice. So I think it makes sense for him to not be ready yet, but maybe I’m just optimistic

Jacob Barton is getting the start for ULM tomorrow. He's 5th year senior that started his career at LSUE, then went to Mississippi St for a year, then transferred back to ULM. Sat out last season due to transfer rules.

Explain the metric the 3 hitter hits with 2 outs and 0 runners on base more than anyone?
You realize how easily this number gets skewed, right? The 3 hole is the only spot in the lineup that’s guaranteed to come up 3rd in an inning at least once per game.
This is an example of why saber metrics isn’t perfect. It’s based purely on a bunch of algorithms with no real common sense applied.

That is actually our hardest night of the week in the first 2 weeks compared to ULM/Bryant, Army/Bryant, Air Force/Bryant, & @Northwestern State/Southern.
You're sleeping on Bryant.
I'm not sleeping on Bryant.
Last season's final RPI:
South Alabama - 51
Army - 77
Southeastern - 79
Bryant - 88
Northwestern - 96
Air Force - 157
UL-Monroe - 196
Southern - 288
Friday - ULM + Bryant = 284
Saturday - Army + Bryant = 165
Sunday - Air Force + Bryant = 245
Tuesday - Southeastern + South Alabama = 130
Wednesday - Northwestern State + Southern = 382
If anything, I was sleeping Army. I did not realize they finished with an RPI of 77 last season. Because of that, Saturday was much closer to Tuesday than I originally thought. But, like I said, Tuesday is still the hardest day of the week during the first 2 weeks.

The metrics work fine when you build your entire lineup based on them. CPM isn't going purely by metrics though. If he were Hughes, who has to be considered the weakest bat in the lineup, wouldn't be in the 9 hole.

I'd prefer:
Smith
Duplantis
Garza
Cabrera
Watson
1B
Mathis
Hughes
Broussard
But whatever...

If duplantis bats anywhere but 3rd it should be lead off
