averaged 32.4 points per game which is more than the team averaged in the 2017, 2016, 2014, 2012, 2010, 2009 and 2008 seasons. Also 402 yards per game which is more than the 2014, 2012, 2011, 2010, 2009, and 2008 seasons. Of course the team averaged 464 ypg in the 2016 season in the games Ensminger was the OC, which is higher than any season in LSU history. Have we ever had a better OC than Ensminger? The numbers seem to indicate that we haven't.

really just looking forward to what Ensminger and Brady can do with the offense in 2019 when they will have more experienced and talent to work with.

38th in ppg. Didn't set the world on fire but far above average. Bet we do even better in 2019.

how many other OC's have averaged as many ppg over their careers at LSU

2018 LSU offense was the 11th best offense in the country when taking into account S0S of defenses played against and other factors according to computer ratings:

The game is evolving to where teams naturally score more. Which is why offensive records are being broken on pretty much a year to year basis. As far as points per game that's a team statistic. It's obviously heavily correlated with offensive production but a team stat.

how about when we compare the offense to other offenses in the 2018 season? 38th in ppg and 11th rated offense when taking into account SOS of defenses played against and other factors by unbiased computer ratings

that's right, stats only matter when they are used to knock Ensminger or Orgeron otherwise they are meaningless.

Everyone knows that 7 ot game is the reason the averages are so high.
We basically got 14 games worth of production in 13 games.
The day before a&m we were at 384 ypg.
And 27.8 ppg.

Our offense was garbage.
Southeastern held us to 63 yards and 3 1st downs in the 2nd half.

We had less than 400 yards 7 times.
We had less than 350 yards 5 times.

Not what I meant at all. But don't be blind to all of the factors that influence the numbers. I'm actually very optimistic about the offense next year and don't think the problems in 18 were necessarily schematic. I think it was a talent issue.

Because of 1 game.

Take the ot out and we are 31.8

Good offenses dont get held to 335 yards and 15 1st downs against Southeastern.

We are 83rd in offensive yards per play at 5.3.

2010 5.3
2011 5.8
2012 5.3
2013 6.4
2014 5.3
2015 6.6
