How are these stats for an offense against a non P5 team...
355 total yds 19 1st downs and 21 pts?

Southeastern didnt have 45 minutes of possession like army and thats not the only mid major we struggled with.
We barely made it over 400 against Tech.

And we also had 359 against one of the worst defenses in cfb in Arkansas

7 times under 400.

If this was miles youd be ripping him.
I know this because you did it after seasons with more production than 2018.

Just stop being a hypocrite or at least acknowledge that you are being one and we will get along great brother.

The only reasons our averages look good is because we played 14 games worth of production in 13 games and our bowl game opponent's defense was so shitty they gave up 445 yards and 34 points in the 1st half to temple.

Some more interesting numbers.

Scoring offense 37th

Redzone offense 27th

Burrow threw for 2900 yards. I know I know you want to take off the 71 yards for the 7 OTs.
It was good enough for all time 3rd or 4th. that's right Joe Burrow came in 3rd or 4th all time while being sacked 35 times. his completion percentage was was down because he was running for is life constantly. Just think what kind of year he's about to have now that he won't be running for his life.

I don’t think you understand what 11th rated offense vs defenses played means...and struggling against southeastern hurt our offensive stats because that was a game we should’ve had 600 yards and 60 points so it actually makes our stats more impressive since they weren’t padded vs SELA.

Why did we struggle so bad against them? Who knows...

Team wasn’t excited to play them...happens all the time
Just came off a top 10 win
Right tackle was owned all night
2nd game in new offense
Burrows second start
Team probably looking to Auburn game

Who cares wewkn 31-0 and then beat Auburn

Don’t forget Burrow had only thrown about 20 passes in his career prior to this season and had very limited time with new offense and wr’s. Really makes you wonder the football IQ of the posters who don’t take any of that into account when watching games.

2900 yards is good for 4th all time for our Joe.

He'll throw for 3500 this fall.

I don't want to crap on your argument here, because I do think that LSU's offense was better than what pure numbers might show, but the A & M game really inflated the numbers for the season. Take the OT points and stats out of that game and then do a comparison to get a more realistic idea.

I'm concerned about Rick's welfare. He's talking crazy talk in the other thread. I almost think that he needs a welfare check.

71 yards and 1 TD pass

As far as the rushing numbers do the math. they still had to get the yards and they weren't rushing unopposed.

Good offenses dont get held to 335 yards and 15 1st downs against Southeastern

Yes, they do. It happens a lot. That’s actually a terrible example, because good teams often come out unfocused against crappy teams.

I agree with your overarching point that the offense was not very good, but the best example is scoring zero against Alabama. That game was at home, against a team we were fired up to play, and it was late enough in the season to have the kinks worked out,

Stats are NOT a tell all. Some serious clowns in here.

Inconsistent OL (will they really be better next year?)
Burrow's inexperience early on
Sub par RB stable by LSU standards
Depleted TE position

Given these facts things were admirable

For all of you focussed on Bama's beat down of the Tigers not one of you has given credit for the smack down of UGA.

Can we not overhype 2018's offense. The last 3 games were very promising, burrow clearly felt more comfortable in the last 3 and our offense did well. But majority of the season our offense struggled and was an eye sore.

I'm optimistic about 2019 offense with the returning talent, Joe Brady, and incoming freshmen. But let's not act like 2018 was anything more than average-slightly above average.

Total offense was 64th.
37th with 2 defensive tds.
37th in scoring because Cole tracy was 2nd in field goals per game.
37th with an entire extra game worth of overtimes.

37th.

You know all of these things.

Unfortunately this stat is irrelevant, as we should be compared to other offenses around the country. That statistic is not favorable and is actually embarrassing. Most of the current offenses are putting up much better numbers than the past. Unfortunately most teams have adapted much quicker and have shown more improvement than we have.

Another game where the offense could not put the ball in the end zone. Great game by the defense and Tracy though.
