You and other posters like you being poltics into everything. Why? What law has been made that directly changes the quality of life under this president?

He probably didn’t give a frick about the incident. He used this as an excuse to play immediately.

Went to a school where he only needs to beat out a RS freshman. Anyone that doesn’t realize this was purely a playing time transfer is dumb af

Don't care.
The kids should be free to do what they want. You're free to accept another job if don't like your current one. Coaches who recruit these kids can do what they want.
The amateur status of football and basketball players is a sham.
The justification in this case is a sham as well but why do kids need a waiver? Kids get "processed" to reach roster limits all the time.
Personally, I wish there was developmental league for football and hoops recruits so they could choose like baseball players do.

Who knows, maybe Sopsher will play at LSU someday after all.

This is embarrassing just reading.

Sopsher can kiss our arse. No LSU fan should welcome him back in our state much less play for LSU.

Move on from him little buddy.

I get what you are saying but allowing open transfers would be total mayhem. Say you are Tulane and you get a diamond in the rough at RB who blows up as a sophomore and runs for 1500 yards and 15 TDs. With open transfers, that kid can now go to Bama or LSU or Clemson or whoever without a second thought. How are teams supposed to compete if their best players can leave at the first sign of success? On the flip side, how is a team like LSU supposed to have depth if every 4 star can transfer the second they don't win the starting job. Open transfers just isn't a viable plan. At least not without completely changing College football as we know it.

You’re forgetting a very critical aspect of this, which is the fact that the team receiving the transfer has to have a scholarship spot on the roster available. Teams will still be limited because of the 85 man limit. Maybe you change the rule so that a certain number of your scholarships on a yearly basis can go to transfers, or maybe you leave as is.

Schools won’t be able to accept an unlimited amount of transfers.

This transfer is just taking advantage of the NCAA.

If Fields had been able to beat out Fromm he wouldn’t be transferring anywhere.

Good! Because we need another QB after next season. (Until we figure out how to develop our HS QB signees)

I agree with you 100 percent! The reality is college football is about big money and not about education. College football has been out of control for a long, long time! The NCAA is a joke and it's about time the athletes get treated fairly like the rest of the students and coaches. How many places can you name where an employee makes more than the president by millions of dollars? I've lost a lot of respect for college football because they want to portray this wholesome image, but the college football is one of the dirtiest business around. In fact, you could draw a correlation to football players to slaves, in that the players have no voice and are told to what to do, when to do it and they have absolutely no voice in anything. If the top-tier athletes decide to one day stand up to the NCAA, college football is going to be in big trouble because they are the product and without them, college football is nothing.

No actually you can’t. Athletes are treated much better than normal students. Free tuitions, room and board, waiver of fees, free books, free meals, free tutors. Don’t forget free summer school and intersessions.

Now, do they work their asses off and dedicate full time work to the university? Yep. But so do a lot of academic students. Hell, I did for my scholarship. The only difference was that if I transferred to another school for another scholarship, I wasn’t prohibited from participating in academics at the new school.

Poaching of players will not really hurt the tops of the power 5. It will kill group of 5 and weaker power 5 teams though

I think there should be some rules to enter the transfer protocol.

1) The coach that recruited and coached you leaves or gets fired.

2) You’re a junior or senior that’s replaced by someone else

3) Someone in your Immediate family has a serious illness (must be documented)

4) graduate transfer

5) you decide to switch majors and your current school doesn’t offer this major (must already have a 3.0 GPA, good class attendance, need only 60 or less credits to pass new major)

6) if player doesn’t meet any of the above reasons and still insist on transferring the full reimbursement of all expenses the university incurred during that players time at university. (Tuition, meals, housing, books, travel, etc.....)

Otherwise stick to your word and honor your commitment. In real life there is consequences for breaking a written agreement.

The kid works his arse off he was ranked the number one player in the country. His sister is in school too. This has nothing to do with race. The family goal is the NFL to be wealthy not unlike like your parents. Let's not pretend priveleges do not exist either.

It's called strategy. Yes, this sets a bad precedent because players with Lawyers will find any loophole for immediate eligibility.

! Is it possible that Justin Fields was really offended?
. Of course it is but not likely when his sister is still playing softball there. Also it isn’t like the incident happened and he left school immediately after it happened.

What about the school being placed on probation? Like Missouri. I just want to know do they have anyone that could help us? Can they transfer like the Ole Miss players did? And play immediately.
