I'm as mad and upset as anyone but let's be realistic about the situation. Douche Goddell was never going to do anything to change the outcome or say anything to ease the Saints fans pain. Why? Because he knows the Saints organization is all pushover sissy Mary's. Think about it. Bountygate, what did Mr. Benson do or say. Nothing. He sat there like a scared puppy with his thumb up his arse. He absolutely said nothing. Saints get robbed in NFC championship game, Gold digging Gayle, who's only worried about trying to win the Kentucky Derby now comes out with a polite, quaint, little politically correct statement. Loomis, the same thing. Do you think in anyway or form that this would have happened to a big market, vocal, powerful owner like Jerry Jones, or The Rooneys, or the Mara's. No efin way. Jerry Jones would have been on the field before the game ended demanding satisfaction. And he would have gotten it. Bountygate Gooddell gives the Saints the death penalty. The Patriots got caught cheating 3 times and the harshest penalty was a 4 game suspension of Tom Brady. C'mon man. It's all about money and NOLA doesn't generate enough for the NFL. CeeUNextTuesday Gayle is never going to ruffle any feathers or stand up to Gooddell for what is right. The Saints will always be slighted. The Rams need fans and a new stadium. What better way to accomplish that then putting them in the Superbowl. Sorry but this is the way it's always going to be for the Saints.

Benson wasn't a pushover but at some point you have to protect your investment.

Outside of Kraft and Jones, who would you consider to be strong ownership?

We need a strong owner like Jones who destroyed a football dynasty.

If you don't think football is simply a means to an end (the end being making money) to pretty much every NFL owner, then I don't know what to tell you. Yes, certain owners come off as cheerleaders for their team, but in the end, winning translates to making more money.

The owners are limited in what they can do and say by nfl restrictions. That’s one reason I like the fans and media harping on it. I think Gayle’s letter was about as direct as one can get without drawing a fine or other punishment.

Kraft and Jones have recently stood up to Goodell and lost. If they can’t do it, no one can.

Goddell wasnt going to do anything because there is nothing he can do. It would be a huge black eye if he replayed a game or part of a game because a ref royally fricked up. Now he should have publicly addressed it but thats another story.

Why should the Saints worry about a fine. How much money did the franchise, players and coaches just get robbed of?

This. I liked Gayles letter. As mad as we all are we know the zebras have final say. It sucks but until things change that's the way it is.
