re: How weird is it that BRPD can't find any recruits?

Roger is right. Dallas is down about 20% or more.

Most of them make 6 figures. That’s why that article is bull shite. You factor in all these jackasses sitting in parking lots playing on their phone or computer working their 12 hour shifts and probably only putting in 6 true hours of work, it is disgusting to see their waste.
Chief dumbass is just the right figurehead for the force. There is not any trust in the police department. It doesn’t matter how many classes or conferences they attend. The truth is they need better results and need to focus on the right areas.

There is absolutely no reason to become a police officer. Pay is shite and you have to worry about some ghetto piece of shite shooting you every time you make a stop

You must've smacked your head too many times if you blame Rawlings for the DPD officer drop.

How much more bullshite are you going to spew in this thread?

There are many more officers looking to leave BRPD. Some for civilian jobs some for other depts. Expect the number of vacancies to increase as the year goes on.
The applicant pool is small because of the many who do apply, can't meet the minimum requirements. They are having to scrape the bottom of the barrel to find applicants who can meet THE MINIMUM standards.
If the pay isn't resolved, the problems will only get worse. Broom Hilda doesnt give a rat's arse about giving officers a raise and neither do her cronies.
Yeah it’s real bad.
From what I hear, EBRSO is doing much better recruiting than BRPD, but I think a lot of that is because EBRSO doesn’t work for Broome and largely avoid having to patrol NBR. It’s the best department in the city outside of LSP, which is a mess along with LSUPD.
I’m shocked it took so long for the vacancies to start hitting. I wouldn’t be shocked if they’re 100 short by the end of the year.

yet they use what they have to take time to set up shop to hand out tickets for stop sign "violations" on bennington (set up .5 mi away and tell you, we saw you didn't come to a complete stop at 2pm in the afternoon (cut through from Perkins/animal hospital to Shell station on college)
Never change BRPD
Those are traffic units. All they do is work wrecks and run traffic. Patrol guys make stops but they very rarely do any traffic enforcement like that.

It’s problem all over. They have a job that’s is increasingly difficult within current administrations and also a pr problem within the community.. they are charged with smear impossible task and respond accordingly which makes citizens of all stripes frustrated

I just read the entire article.
They were supposed to have a second academy in 2018 but Paul sent his academy staff to some bullshite course in California so now it’s pushed to March 2019. They plan on having two academy classes in 2019, one with 35 officers and one with 25. They’ll easily lose 20% of those during the academy so they may add 45 best case scenario and with the mountain of people seeking to leave or retire, they’re right back where they started.

You know why they don’t patrol North Baton Rouge?
So the First District Precinct located on Plank Rd and the Fourth District Precinct located in Scotlandville of the BRPD, do not patrol NBR?

I guarantee you could move from Dallas to Gardena or Hawthone, CA and double your pay. Ask for Tom Zebra.

That's what I ended up doing, left at 5 years before I got stuck.

You sound like Chauna Banks. You have any proof whatsoever of that? There are certainly some that do, but your average officer isn’t pulling down 6 figs

I'll say it again, wall N BR up. Have the stale bread truck back up to wall daily and throw over bread. Others can throw over their left overs. Leave one opening for a mule drawn carriage to go in and gather the dead.

It is not worth the pay.
The job market strong and $33k not worth the BS.
You can work construction and make more with less headaches.
