if it's not a 1-year extension with none of that money being guaranteed (aka, a "lower buyout") then it makes no sense

Hopefully the buyout is reasonable.
Orgeron had a good season. He’s made moves to improve the offense. I wouldn’t have extended him until next year, but w/e.

You don't have to. It is good for optics and recruiting. Just no insane increase in buy out. Otherwise well deserved.
