Yea they are pretty good. It’s essentially a sloppy joe with thousand island.

That Pastrami sandwich from Katz's looks amazing!

It’s good but not a great sandwich. It could possibly be the “best” Cuban but it’s the only one I ever had.

Any list that includes a hot brown is illegitimate.

Pretty good list. Great photographs.
My drools when I read some of the descriptions and examined the photos confirmed that I am a sandwich junky, except I already knew that.
Wish you could buy the New England dog buns down here. The Frostop I worked at in Highschool had them and I have not seen any ever any where else, except on photos of Lobster rolls. I guess they are not a southern thing.
I am going to teach myself how to make pastrami. I know how, just have never tried and am hardly ever satisfied with deli pastrami in this part of the country.
Our youngest son lives in Pittsburgh and we have visited him many times. Those visits have included more than one visit to Primanti Brothers, which is on a side street off the strip. I do agree with those who say the Primanti Brothers French fry sandwiches are over rated.
After looking at their examples, I decided it would be fun to take a sandwich trip.
There are other things, as a whole, only interesting to me, so I won't continue boring you guys.

The King's Hawaiian® Hot Dog Buns are top sliced. Walmart has them.

Kings Hawaiian
I'll have to try them. I have never been fond of the sweetness of their product.
Except as a carrier for Spinach dip.
Thanks for the information.

No Darryl's, no care.
I know this is a joke but I’m working in Lake Charles now and had the Darryl Special a few weeks ago and was not impressed. I’ve heard people brag about it on here for years but it’s just processed meats with probably a canned gravy and jalapeño mayo. It was a soupy mess for me and I couldn’t even finish it. And I’m not the type to not finish sandwiches/po boys usually.
They only have like 4-5 types of poboys and only shrimp for seafood.

Am I the only person that thinks this looks retarded? What is the point of a patty so big with a bun so small?
I thought the same. Just toss the bun and add some white, sausage gravy and call it chicken fried steak.

The fried oyster po-boy is much better at Deanie's..

You speak the absolute truth.

And how does something like this make a best of list?
You ever had a Maid-Rite. They are pretty tasty.

They serve them at the NASCAR races in Talladega, AL.
Been to 35 or 40 races there and have not seen these there but I didn't go looking for them either so maybe they do.

He does, but that doesn't mean it's not delicious. R&O's does a better version of that kind of sandwich, though.

They started selling them 3 or 4 years ago at the track owned concessions. We’re infield trash, so if you come this spring, I’ll treat you to one.

The Sam. According to my tastebuds it’s the best sandwich in the city
I understand a poboy and muff are local to Nola, but they don’t compare from a taste perspective to me
There are people in the world that would rather eat this
over this?
I refuse to accept people disagreeing with me here

Very different sandwiches
I hate olives so, muffs aren’t my bag, but a good RB PoBoy? Gives anything a run for its money.
Also Steins’ always overlooks the pastrami on my Sam. It’s not supposed to be crunchy.
