I have a 5 month old, and will bring my baby to a baseball game, and likely a basketball game too. It has been Recomended by my Dr and many others to take the baby to things your family likes to do early. This way they get used to and start liking things your family likes to do. I will however, bring baby hedphones, and be sure that temperature is right, and not too hot or cold for a baby.

My wife and I like to boat too, and we have already taken our baby on the boat several times, and the baby loves it!

I couldn't fathom bring my 4 year old to Tiger Stadium. I could almost promise that as soon as I turn my head or blink, he'd be on the sidelines high-fiving the walk-ons. A 7 month old sounds much easier... As long as mom is there for diaper duty.

Please don't bring a baby. It will be traumatic with all the noise.

What? The rant says the PMAC is like a library during games.

If I were you I wouldn't bring a baby to a baseball of basketball game.

The parents of the baby might be upset with you.

For baseball, it depends on the weather. I would also spend extra for grandstand seats for obvious reasons which shouldn’t be hard to find for a Bryant game. Make sure they’re protected by the net as a couple of the outer grandstand sections are not. I didn’t bring my oldest to a game until he was 3 but I would’ve been comfortable bringing him as an infant.

For basketball, I haven’t been to a game in a long time but I don’t see why there would be an issue sitting in some upper seats. Bring something to cover his ears in case it’s loud like it should be. If he’s like mine, you shouldn’t have trouble with the game and fans keeping him entertained.

All of my boys went to games starting around 9 months and have attended baseball games regularly since then and football since they were ~3 with no issues for me or anyone we sit by. You know your kid and how he/she will behave.

Don't know about baseball, but our seats in the PMAC last week had my knees crushed against the seatbacks in front of me. I wouldn't have wanted a baby with me for 2 hours.

I've brought my son (3) and daughter (1) to a few basketball games and my son to baseball games for the last 3 years. It's not a problem at all. Just remember that it does get loud in the PMAC, so bring some earmuffs.

According to my parents...that's not a good idea. They said I couldn't be trusted until I was like 7 or 8. Kept trying to run onto the court & also kept getting nacho cheese in the people's hair in front of me.

sounds like you need to lay off the booze

It's so quiet in there, that he won't wake up. Great place for a baby to take a nap.

My cousin just brought her month old to the baseball exhibition this past weekend so if the month-old was fine at a calmer atmosphere I'd say your child should be fine

Ah. Ok The fact that YOU want it out ranks any discomfort that you put your child through. I get it. But since the feelings of your kid seem to be secondary to your wants, perhaps you might just consider the people who will be sitting near you when he cries. Babies cry. Often unexpectedly and for unexplained reasons. It's what they do. It's their job. I know, I know he's cute when he cries at home but the people who paid their money for the game(s) just might not think he's as cute as you do. It's possible you know.

You might not realize this but there will be other games in other years when he is old enough to enjoy them with you. Wait.

I love these threads.

People get so bent out of shape because a kid might cry for a few seconds before the parent moves them into the concourse. At a sporting event.

How about this as an idea? Just leave the kid home. Why subject him/her to discomfort and confusion? Bringing an infant to a sporting event serves no purpose for the infant. In what universe does the parent believe that the kid is actually enjoying it and has even the slightest notion of what is going on? Show off your pride and joy some place else.

The cutoff is actually 2 and under, so you are good without a ticket as stated already. 7 months should be fine if you plan accordingly. I would HIGHLY recommend getting some ear protection from Amazon. My youngest would sleep through even the loudest games in the PMAC when he had the ear muffs on. He never cried and disturbed the people around us, and it let us take my oldest so she could really enjoy the games.

Or you could just not be a miserable jerk. If the little guy seemed upset about being there we would leave. If he was loudly crying and disturbing those around us we'd also leave. If I thought this was going to be the case we wouldn't even consider it. It's not about "showing off our pride and joy" it's about taking him with us to our one or two games a year without having to leave him behind .

I'm planning on bringing my 2 and 4 year olds to baseball games this year. Will be their first sporting events, pretty pumped!
