1. Microsoft -- Their early mistakes with the Xbox One have caused them to focus on being incredibly consumer-centric with the best monthly free games (Games with Gold), mod-support, backwards compatibility going back two generations, X-Box Game Pass, and free PC/Xbox crossbuy on digital titles.

2. Sony -- After ending the Xbox brand at E3 2013 and being the consumer champion the previous generation, Sony has really gone backwards. Charging a yearly fee for PSN has meant that (with some exceptions) the free games are paltry at best. PSN does typically have the best and most frequent sales on their online store. Mod-support for games like Skyrim and Fallout 4 does exist but it's much more restricted than on Xbox. The only subscription service available on Playstation is the Playstation Now streaming service that is twice the price of Xbox Game pass. It has improved though from the standpoint that many Playstation 4 titles can now be downloaded directly to the system. Services like EA Access were not allowed on PSN due to perceived competition with Sony's own service. Backwards compatibility does exist but only from the standpoint of PS2 classics. The PS2 games have to be re-purchased on PSN. They do upscale to 1080p with Trophy support, but support for additional PS2 classics on PS4 seems all but dead after the initial wave of games. Many people are also not fans of Sony's hardline stance against cross-platform play (Although I dislike crossplatform play on any competitive multiplayer title).

3. Nintendo -- Their hardline anti-emulation stance really irks me, especially given that they have used ROMs downloaded from the internet on their online stores for the Wii/Wii U/3DS. Emulation, especially when we're talking about emulating decades old games. It's obvious that Nintendo sees emulation as competition with NES Online, but people will buy that service to play classic games on the Switch not just to play them in general. Nintendo's design philosophy behind the consoles they develop also seems geared towards milking the consumer for as many accessories as possible. The Switch Joycon is $80 for both the left and right and $50 for a single pack. The Switch Pro Controller (which I do recommend if you play the Switch primarily in docked mode) costs $70. Admittedly I think the Wii was the biggest offender with all the things you could plug into the Wii-Mote. Their online service is cheaper than the competition's, but NES Online is lackluster thus far. It's clear that they are slowly dripping out games to add to the service in order to keep you subscribed, there are no dedicated servers for online multiplayer, and not every game supports cloud saving. There games are also almost always full price or never any cheaper than $40 regardless of how long they've been out unless we're talking about re-releases like Nintendo Select (which doesn't exist for Switch yet).

As apologetic as nintendo fans can get, I think most here are of the mindset of "I love their games, don't get a lot of the decisions they make".

I didn't think much of the Xbox Game Pass at first, but you get access to any Microsoft Studio games on launch day. That means Halo, Forza, Gears, you get on day 1. And if these studios Microsoft just purchased, including Obsidian, puts out some quality games, the Xbox Game Pass is going to be a must get.

I think they’re all flawed in their own right.

Microsoft is NOT consumer friendly in the fact that they advertise the fact they’re the most powerful console in gaming but have nothing to show for it. You might as well just use steam.

Sony has the best games and most user friendly interface, but I think we all know how they’ve treated their consumer base as of late as well as the general public like the Fortnite crowd.

Nintendo has terrible prices and their deals are few and far between. I just got a PlayStation and its online subscription absolutely blows away Nintendo. However, it’s on a hot streak right now with its big games (minus Metroid :/ ) and their user consumer friendliness comes from their transparency and top of the line main titles. Tell me something. Give me Sony’s and Microsoft’s first party titles. Not ones that they bought or acquired, but that were originally released in house from their studios and are known to be titles on that platform from the beginning. How many games do they have after that?

Close to none. Nintendo is very bad when it comes to online and its policies, but they are innovative and provide quality standards that even the two former have noted before.

I’d say they’re about equal IN THAT regard.

Nintendo has always struck me more as functionally retarded than malicious.

They have 2 gold mines as far as online play in Splatoon and Mario Kart and they can't get out of their own way.

Imagine living in 2019 and still thinking the Xbox is better than the PlayStation. The 91 million PS4s sold vs the 43 million XBox Ones says otherwise.

That's one thing. I just can't understand how somebody could think Gold has had better free games.

I have no issues with this list. Prices for Nintendo controllers are truly outrageous, and I believe their stubbornness on the pricing of old games is actually harming the visibility of the Switch. It's the best system out right now, but they refuse to budge on these things and I believe that is keeping some people away.

It should have been. Labo is absolutely amazing. Truly a great time.

Labo was way overpriced for a product that was essentially 1 time use and you're done.
