Yeah we don't believe you.
What were your monthly expenses?
Housing, food and transportation alone weakens your story.

That's because it's complete and utter bullshite to try to make himself look good. Next time you tell this story try more believable numbers. Saving $15K would have sold me. $1250 per month for rent, food, diapers, doctor visits, baby food, GAS, electricity.....and for 3 people. Yeah. You are completely full of shite but cool story.

For all you "no way that was possible" people:
I had gotten my expenses down to around $2000 per month. Everything else was saved. My biggest expense was rent, which was $800 at the time. So the other $1200 was for gas, utilities, food, etc. Rarely ate out, which was a huge money saver. I also did not have car notes. Both my wife and I were driving older vehicles that we owned outright.
We did this for 2 years. It wasn't like it was forever. As our income and net worth grew, so did our living standards. However, we still live well under our means even today. It's not that hard; it's just that people don't want to sacrifice pleasures today for a more secure future. I have little sympathy for them.

Did you not pay taxes on your income? Were you on any government assistance?
Because at 2k per month it makes your claim even less believable.

lived on a lot less than that thirty years ago. Have you ever eaten a rice sandwich?
I’ve eaten every poor person food bra. My parents were excellent budgeters of money. I grew up on buttered rice, kraft singles, cinnamon toast, .98 banquet dinners, etc.
But I’m not claiming my parents saved 30k in 2 years

nothing here is remotely believable.

Healthcare? Babies go in all the time for various checks/shots/issues. You are glossing past too much...or you are 70 years old.

So you spent all of your takehome but managed to save 40% of your income.
Got it.
Got it.

Just say you saved about $20K because the EIC you got for 2 years made up the rest.

Ask your wife
Ask her what? She'll be getting home from her nursing job in about an hour and then she'll prepare a delicious, homemade dinner for our family. She's a wonderful cook.
Sorry your wife is 60 pounds overweight and whose idea of cooking is throwing hamburger helper slop on your plate. That must suck.

Id be able to save more if I had a negative tax rate. Some of the money you claim to be saving is mine. You are welcome baw. What other wellfare programs do you exploit.

I managed to save $30k
In an emergency fund over 2 years when I was making only $45k out of college, married and had 1 child. And that was with my wife staying home.
I think it's ridiculous that these gov workers missing one check are completely busted, however, I don't believe you.

You didn't save 1/3 of your gross pay with no help.
I save well over 1/3 of my gross pay every year. Although its not always easy, and I make a bit more than 45k.

You'd be able to save more if you knew how to work a simple calculator. Negative tax rate? Now I see why most of you broke d!cks live the way you do.
