Two Siegen Lane bums are running a pretty slick scam

I get the chance to observe the Siegen Lane bums almost daily as I wait to turn on to I-10 west every evening. I’ve noticed a pair running a scam. It is a young (probably 30) guy with reddish hair along with a dried out, skinny, older, woman who could be a poster child for an anti-meth program. Some days the woman is walking around fine with her sign. The next day the guy will have her in a wheelchair with a sign saying his mother is paralyzed.
Once I was waiting at the light and there was a young woman (20s?) who wasn’t bad looking for a homeless. She turned and saw the guy walking up to beg with the woman in the wheelchair and the look on her face said “how TF am I supposed to compete with that?” I felt bad about laughing but defeat was spelled out on her face. She either has to be prettier or look more broken down to compete with wheelchair homeless. It was the same sort of look somebody gets at a gym when you warm up with their max.
I’m normally a softy when it comes to homeless folk since I don’t know what circumstances brought them there. The obvious scam really pisses me off.

You are the type that allows these scammers on street corners. The ones to be sad about arent out there doing that. (other than the clear missing limbs ones)

Here’s a tip, 99.9% are running a scam and have cars parked in a lot somewhere near or have been dropped off. Idiots give them money, thus they keep coming back.
It’s the same with the kids that have parents parked at gattis or Albertsons collecting on Perkins for football uniforms during school hours or on the weekends. Hint: 4 kids don’t collect donations for football unis in street clothes.

There used to be a guy that would beg at the light on Siegan in front of Target. I worked at OG in college and would try and sneak him out some soup/breadsticks whenever I got the chance. I was leaving later than normal one day and watched him cross the street and get into a pretty new truck, newer than mine at the time. Told him to get fricked the next afternoon

I walked past one this week on the Vegas strip. Wheelchair bound. Scruffy etc. I caught him texting on his iPhone under his propped up cardboard sign of woe

Guys, yall's white privilege is showing. Just because they don't make have as much money as you doesn't mean they can't have a cell phone. Walk a day in their shoes. It's hard work begging for money everyday. Unlike your desk job in the air conditioning.
