So far he hasn't been caught making the claim of Vietnam Vet. He has stated in quotes an in interview either "Vietnam Times Vet" or "Vietnam Era Vet" which is a VA term for veterans during the conflict that did not serve in the war.
Right now the story is about either a lazy media or a media that intentionally tried to crank up the outrage by dropping "era".
