What song do you use to test the sound quality of new sound equipment?

I recently got a nice sound system and have been going through some of my usual songs that I like to play at high volume because the detail, tone or bass response in them gives an immediate assessment of audio range.

If you get a new system what are your go-to songs for demonstration?

The new Pink Floyd album is a good one.

Beach Boys Pet Sounds is a great one.

Tool - Vicarious, if you like to rock, lots of layers and nuance to that song's mixing

If you want to test the power, look no further than remastered ACDC tracks.

Then you can always go the big band route to get a little of everything.

Spyroid by Ozric Tentacles. It has a really wide frequency range with some very low synthesized bass notes at the beginning along with cymbals and more synth sounds at the high end. If you use an mp3 encoded version of this song, it needs to be very well encoded at a high bit rate. Otherwise, you're going to get artifacts and you won't know whether they're in the source or caused by your equipment. Of course, an uncompressed version (or at least FLAC compressed) is far superior.

You should use music you're familiar with. It doesn't matter what I use for listening. You may not have the same taste in music.

You should also listen to uncompressed music. It saddens me that we now have at least one generation of people who've only listened to compressed music.

Rumors by Fleetwood Mac. Has a wide variety of instrumentation as well as some subtle notes and other sounds you can't hear on lower end equipment.
