Let’s do some basic math (proof of collusion)

What do you think the odds of a professional ref in perfect position missing an obvious PI AND targeting would be?

Let’s be generous and say 1 in 10,000

That means the odds of TWO refs in perfect position missing multiple penalties is....

1 in 100 million.

Now I’m not a conspiracy nut, but you tell me what’s more likely. This 1 in 100 million chance at a defining moment in the NFC championship or collusion/influence by these refs/NFL?

No doubt in my mind that the fix was on. We saw it earlier in the game, and just didn't know how bad it would get.

No doubt fixed. That’s the easiest call you’ll ever make

My opinion is that there is a “message” sent down as to whom the league favors. That doesn’t mean it can happen. If Saints score TD’s instead of FG’s, it may be out of officials control. But........if the game is close.......they absolutely can affect the outcome.

till the day I die, I will believe this was a fix, either by officials getting vegas money or by the leagues agenda. I will not, under any circumstance, believe that both of those cocksucking motherfrickers missed that call

To me it looked like they were avoiding making calls on both sides all game. Like they didn’t want to be the deciding factor in the game. I think it’s a lot more likely unintended consequences of too many no calls than the league cared which 14-3 team with a high powered offense made the Super Bowl. If anything the Saints are the more marketable team in a SuperBowl setting because of Brees.

You just proved my point. There is no way two refs miss that unless they decided as a group

Maybe the refs got together and decided to change the normal way a game is called? That’s unacceptable too.

There were plenty of calls in the AFC game

Yeah, but if they're calling the game consistently on both sides it's "fair". Did the refs miss calls, possibly on purpose? I think they did. Does that mean there was a conspiracy to make sure the Saints didn't win? No. I think the much more innocent explanation of calling a loose game, which fits the facts you outlined, explains what we saw much more than a league preference on who they wanted to win.

Why were other PIs called? That was easily the worst PI of the night.

I don’t think your explanation works

And I don’t think that it’s ok for the refs to change the way they call a game intentionally and discuss it before without telling anyone. That’s directly influencing the game whether you make or don’t make calls. Just call all the games the same way. The rules are clear

If you presume innocence. If you follow the money, a coast to coast super bowl is more $$$$exy than a flyover NO/KC game. Line up to form conclusions here.

The numbers don’t lie.

Calls like are rarely missed by 1 ref.

2 refs missing this call is statistically extremely unlikely without some type of collusion or decision made by the refs. It doesn’t even have to be a malicious decision but even a decision as a group to change the way they normally call a game is criminal.

Dude, the NFL and refs can make any game as close as they want to.

Or do you think OT games in BOTH conference championships is just the result of pure happenstance?

If you cannot see that a LA vs NE super bowl is more favorable to the league than KC vs NO, then you are as blind as those two refs.

I've said it multiple times on this board, the Rams were the only team that scared me this season. They went all in and the NFL *MUST* make football work in LA to pay for that "NFL Disney World" stadium they're building in Inglewood. The NFL will *NEVER* admit to a fix existing, but that doesn't mean a fix was set up.

I believe the NFL advised the refs to ensure the game is kept close, but in no way wanted what happened last night to happen. There's a difference between not calling a PI like the one on Ted Ginn at the beginning of the 4th quarter and the blatant, obvious, targeting on TLL.

Saying something is otherwise improbable does not affirmatively prove a conspiracy.

I hate conspiracy talk in sports...but it is so difficult to argue it in this case

I realize that. There’s lots of things we don’t know for sure, but we just accept them based on the odds. Most scientific principles are this way.

So I’ll choose to accept the most likely cause for what we saw yesterday.

Not at all. You know some teams use PI situations to thier advantage.?

Some plays are called with the specific intent to either score or draw PI.

You call the game as the rules dictate, because that's how the teams and coaching prepared

All these conspiracy theories are dumb. We had virtually penalties called against us all game.

If refs were going to job us we'd have had holding flags, pass interference flags, facemask flags, etc.

Holding flags on kick returns are the biggest silent gamechanger there is and we had none to my knowledge.

the Refs saw it but refused to call it. Why? Was it simply the moment that got to them? Doubtful! So why did they refuse to throw an obvious flag? That’s the question.

There are missed calls in every game but none this obvious or blatant.
