the controls are clunky and terrible, wtf has gone wrong in the world of snowboarding games. if EA would just remake tricky with the same controls and characters and shite i'd buy it immediately. /rant

Why do people keep comparing these games? 
Steep is a (semi) realistic winter extreme sports game that allows you to to free ride down a mountain.
Yes, there is racing, but if you're gonna compare Steep to something, compare it to the Amped franchise.
SSX is an arcade racer that happens to take place on snowboards.

Tried it since it was free. I didn’t even make it past the full install, played only the intro part you get while the game is installing. I’m just not a fan of a winter sports sim and thought it would be more of an SSX tricky kind of game. It’s like Skate but not nearly as fun.
Speaking of Skate I wish thy would bring that one back.

look, why do we have to compare 90s-00s snowboarding games. they're each good in their own ways. have had lots of fun with each.

1080 and SSX Trickey were legit games, but SBK was a pretty fun party game.

SSX tricky was the first game I ever owned for PS2. Me and my cousin would stay up all night trying to complete all the courses in 1st place. Good times

SSX Tricky was a ton of fun, but Coolboarders on the PS1 was the OG snowboard game for me. Played that nonstop.
