In the last season, when they're playing monopoly and Tony changes the words of the song "under the boardwalk, some dude's schlong in Janice's mouth, under the boardwalk."

Then Bobby sucker punches him.

Having some questions as I rewatch for the first time...

Why didn’t the FBI not bug the club or deli? They spent a lot of effort bugging Tony’s house.

Why did Tony basically give Uncle June a pass for trying to kill him S1? How didn’t anyone continue to bring that up?

I'm in the middle of Season 2 and the thing that stands out to me is that Tony has been breaking Richie Aprile's balls non-stop since he got out of prison. Some of it warranted for what he did to Beansie but most of it not warranted at all.

He didn't go after Richie....all of it was Richie doing things he shouldn't be doing. Tony was content to leave him alone if he toed the line....but Richie never did.

If you made money for Tony without drama, he didn't care what the hell you did.

On Season 3 now and Anabella Sciorra may be one of the sexiest beasts of all time. God she was smoking on her short stint.

Think it tops the Wire for me

Gandolfini as Tony is the GOAT tv acting job

Wire and sopranos are 1a and 1b, but I’d give the wire the slight nod. There’s a significant gap between sopranos and my #3 all time.

Tony soprano is easily the goat character of all time.

I remember how it ends because I saw that with my dad. But I'm just going through a full series watch from season 1 to the end. Somewhere in season 4 / almost season 5. I think Paulie is why what happened to Tony ends up happening.

Dude is a fricking snitch and an a-hole. Johnny sacks fat wife joke. Him sniffing Adriana underwear after waking Christopher up in the middle of the night. Something is off about him in the sense that he seems to be out for himself. Plus I think an episode that I saw recently implied that if Tony died or something happened to him, then Paulie would be the leader

It has the best mix of humor and seriousness in a show.

I really enjoyed The Wire but it's not in the same fricking universe as The Sopranos. The Wire probably makes my top 10 but not in my top 3.

Tony knew he could manipulate him and wanted Jr. to be the “lightening rod” to take all the heat with the inditements and crap. The feds has “the boss” in jail and secretly Tony is running shite.

But then June got out of jail and Tony seemingly dropped it. Makes him look weak imo. He put a hit out on Tony and Tony did nothing about it

Tony nearly wiped out junior's whole crew and took all their businesses. That's hardly doing nothing about it

Junior was more of a dad to Tony than his real father

Honestly, once you figure out that the Sopranos is an hour long sitcom with strong black comedy/dramedy elements, you realize it is one of the best done shows ever from a delivery standpoint, even if the content isn't your cup of tea.

And surprisingly rewatchable. I mean, for me the hour long shows that I come back to over and over (other than Star Trek products and B5) are The Sopranos, The Wire, The Shield and Breaking Bad. As much as I've enjoyed the GoT experience, I just don't think those will be as rewatchable as the other 4.

For casual fans or those unfamiliar with The Sopranos, the comedy (without becoming a farce) may be the strongest running element in the show.

Tony Soprano:
[angered] I thought I told you to back the frick off Beansie!

Richie Aprile:
I did, then I put it in drive.

I'm telling you, Richie had some of the best lines/moments in that series. He was hilarious in that old school, a-hole kind of way.

Better coat: the coat Richie gave Tony or the coat Ziggy bought S2 the Wire?
