I never forgot. I tell my friends and kids about the old biscuits every time I eat one of the crappy new biscuits.

The old school biscuits from the 80s were smooth on top, not lumpy like that.

More like this:

The biscuits today look identical to those biscuits. They're just more dense than they used to be.

Not only were they a little less dense, they were a little smoother and more buttery on the top and bottom.

I might be talking out of my arse, but the lumpy ones could have been served around breakfast time.

Maybe only certain stores did them?

No, you are not out of line. I remember lumpy biscuits a long time ago. They may have done different things at different times or places.

This is all my Walmart had. Nobody else bought one in the last two days. That is not good.

I mimicked the sweet heat sauce one day for my kids. They wanted more so I read the ingredients and duplicated it. Came out surprisingly well. Blind taste test and it was kid approved. Was a little on the watery side because I did not have the Xanthem gum if I recall.

Bought the mix and made some about an hour ago.

Used a TBSP sized disher to make mini biscuits. Turned out perfectly!

I also have memory of the lumpy ones but can’t swear to the accuracy.
