I think the kid wants to go to Bama and Saban is calling his bluff. But yeah, if his brother has a chance to play at Oregon, that changes everything.

They can have Rodney, then we can take Ish. Problem solved.

Wait, so are we thinking the trade is Saban gets Rodney a scholarship to another Power Five conference school (Oregon) by Cristobal granting a favor to his mentor by using an available spot in his class, and Ish then goes to Bama, with the understanding that "down the line" if Rodney develops (albeit in a weaker defense conference), then the midget picks him up later? Is this way too deep, and is Satan really that devilish and willing to do anything to get Ish?

No. It's simpler than that. Saban got Rodney at D1 offer at a very respected program. So now Ish doesn't have to worry about helping his brother. Moreover, I'm sure Saban is telling him, "you know, Orgeron doesn't REALLY want your brother. He'll never play and everyone will always say he only got to play at LSU because of you. But, Oregon really wants him. Let Rodney go there and actually play and you come here, where you have always wanted to be. Win-win."

Let's hope Ish realizes that Saban's orchestration is a bit insulting.

I think Sophser has loads of talent and great size but if I could choose I would take Pickering or Young from MS. They just seem like better players right now. That being said I fully understand this is more about standing your ground in recruiting Louisiana more than anything.

Truth, because what I've always heard (no sauces, just saying) was that Saban would help Rodney find a D1 offer, not take him at Bama. So now, it makes him look like a hero to the Sopshers because he now says "see, I told you I'd come through", and "LSU didn't try to help you find another school".

Now, I'm pretty sure that Oregon also won't take Rodney without Ish, but that's probably not the angle that Saban or Cristobal are pushing right now.

Wow. This is crazy on multiple levels.

You really think that Oregon is taking Rodney without Ish? How dumb do you think Cristobal is? There is no freaking way Oregon takes Rodney without Ish. That's absurd.

Also, let's suspend reality for a moment and pretend that Oregon really would take Rodney without Ish. Ish and Rodney are apparently REALLY close. You really think Ish is going to Bama while his brother is thousands of miles away, when he could go to LSU and play together, or trust that Saban gives Rodney a spot in Bama's 2020 class?

He's not dumb. Saban will owe him.

If you start from the premise that Bama won't take Rodney, then finding him a really great home at an awesome campus that is far away is the next best thing. Of course it means testing whether Ish truly cares about playing with Rodney or whether hooking Rodney up is sufficient.

That's where many of these theories fall apart.

This isn't the typical bargaining; Ish is not just only trying to get his brother a ride.

The idea, and the only idea, is that Rodney get a ride to the same school as Ish. The whole idea is that they attend the same school. Period. From Ish's mouth.

Any scenario that has them going to different schools is just wrong.

Why the hell would Saban care if Rodney is far away, when that works against him getting Ish? Your theory makes no sense.

I'm not buying anything beyond Saban trying to help Rodney get an offer from a school like UAB or West Alabama.
