I honestly think he is torn he knew he had to declare but loves LSU. He made the correct decision and I’m truly happy for the guy. God bless him for representing LSU with pride!

If he had come back, I'd have called him the best tiger ever. Can't say that now.

not trolling, people just took everything he said or did and ran with it to convince themselves it meant he was staying

No One got trolled. Some people read for more into social media posts than were ever meant to be.

If you follow him on any social media he definitely did A LOT of trolling. Nobody is upset with him for doing what’s best for him, but there is no denying that devin did indeed troll this fan base into thinking we had a chance of keeping him

The guy was torn obviously. Be thankful that he was seriously considering staying. If he wasn't he would've declared weeks ago.

I genuinely don't believe he was ever seriously considering another year at LSU.

I think it was a tough decision. I think everything pointed him towards the NFL, but he just couldn’t accept it for a while. Seems to me like he spent weeks trying to convince himself to stay until finally he just had to accept it was in his best interest to declare for the draft. It also sounds like finishing his degree is important to him and and his family and he had to convince him self as well as them that he could still get his degree later.

but honestly feels like masterful trolling on players parts with all the buildup

It feels like a top 20 pick struggled with the hardest decision he's ever had to make.

but damn I feel trolled.

Get over yourself. This isn't about you. This is about a great Tiger who showed nothing but the utmost class in his 3 years in Baton Rouge. Yes, I was slightly disappointed when I read that he'd be leaving us, but after putting myself in DW's shoes this was a no-brainer. He is about to fulfill his ultimate lifetime dream and I couldn't be happier for him.

Never said it was about me, just let myself get my hopes up hoping we'd have another Dorsey type situation. Would've been great.

I agree with this.

I also think all of the people saying "this was a hard decision and he wanted to wait until the last minute to make it" are telling themselves what they need to feel better.

A top 10 pick in the NFL draft is not a tough decision.

Exactly.

The people saying this were strung along too, they're just justifying it.

I don't fault DW one bit for any of it, fwiw. He enjoyed his time as a Tiger to the very last minute, but he was going pro the moment the Fiesta Bowl ended.

Don’t say shite at all about coming back if you don’t 100% intend to do it. The dude got a bunch of peoples hopes up just to crush them at the last minute. It’s not a requirement to make all these social media posts talking about coming back or leaving. Just stfu about it until your official announcement.
