How come Dabo Swinney’s name never gets brought up for the NFL?

Young, energetic guy. Could connect with NFL players. Is he not “Xs and Os” enough?

He fits the college game better. Plus he is the HC of a top tier program who will pay him whatever it takes to keep him. No need to leave.

His coordinators make 2 million a year he’s not a great Xs and Os guy. But he does a great job of setting the culture of a program

Maybe he or his agent have been contacted before and they said they are not interested in coaching in the NFL. When names get “leaked” about coaching hires it’s usually the agent that leaks it.

He’d be a great NFL head coach if we were in the 60s or 70s. You don’t see many rah-rah guys like him in the NFL anymore.

Everyone knows this. He’s never been a coordinator, just a position coach. The Orgeron hire was compared to Dabo ad nauseam

I honestly think that the NFL has gotten so fricking weird and unrealistic regarding what they look for in head coaches that they’re not even in reality anymore. I have no doubt that someone who’s a phenomenal leader and manager would be able to do a solid job in the NFL- even if he lacked an X’s and O’s pedigree- if he was surrounded by good position coaches.

The obsession with getting a “young, hot, high powered offensive mind” has led to KLIFF frickING KINGSBURY coaching the Arizona Cardinals. I honestly don’t think I’ve ever seen such a bad group of head coaches in the NFL and it starts with this odd obsession with ignoring historically successful management principles that work in every company and every profession from Exxon to the Army Special Forces in favor of “X’s and O’s”. It’s just odd to me

I don't think his "rahrah go team, we're a big Christian family!" routine would work nearly as well in the NFL.

If he plays Fortnite with Sean McVay I bet he immediately gets 5 offers.

He tried to run the offense when he first got the job and it was about as ugly and incompetent as Willie Taggart's offense this year. He's done a good job of recruiting, setting the culture, and getting Clemson to pay out of their arse for coordinators, but without the Chad Morris hire after his 3rd year he'd be a WR coach at Bama

Dabo told Stephen A last week that he has been contacted by NFL teams. He said he likes where he’s at right now, but who knows what happens in 5 years. He might feel different. He didn’t shut the door.

Hell why would he leave? You win the title and get to have Burger King and Wendy’s at the White House

His faith in God hurts him unfortunately because most liberal cities that NFL teams reside in have majority Atheist fan bases. NFL teams are scared ****less of hiring a guy so open about his faith. Its like the Tim Tebow situation.
